“Loved every second”

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday in thesun hotel and had a splendid time.

The hotel was spotless, room cleaned every day food was superb and all thestaff were so polite and could not do enough for you. I was a little worried because of some of the reviews I had read before going, but as soon as we arrived these fears were put to bed. 2 large
swimming pools and private beach within a 2 minute walk, plenty of night life just a short taxi drive away if you want it in Naama bay.
The owners Mr.Mrs Raouf are very nice people and they also mix with the guest.

We would certainly reccomend this hotel to any person who likes a quality holiday and does not like things to lively. We shall certainly return either in October 07 or May 08

“What a lovely place”

We have just returned from two weeks at the Sun Hotel, Egypt. The hotel was clean and tidy and was better than we had expected. When we arrived there were only another 8 families. It was so quiet. The swimming pools were clean and sometimes we were the only three in them. Our twelve year old daughter soon made friends and we never saw much of her for the rest of the holiday. It was very child friendly. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though they did out number the guests. We cannot fault the food, a good choice every day.

There was no evening entertainment but we weren't looking for that. All the entertainment was in Naarma Bay. We managed to negotiate a good price for a taxi there and back and it only took 20 minutes. Much better than having a loud disco in the ears everynight!!! The rooms were light and tidy, housekeeping was excellent and we had a wonderful view of the sea.

The only negative thing was that the pool bar staff liked to play music loud but when asked they did turn it down!

There were a number of things that we not open or not available but on the whole it was a wonderful holiday. We would definitely go back again. My daughter has already asked to go back to the hotel again next year.

If you are looking for a quiet holiday then this is the place. Do not go there if you want lots of entertainment.

“'It wasn't nice'”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2006

We booked to stay in the Star hotel, on arrival we were told that the Star hotel was closed, so we were put in the Sun hotel next door. We had also booked a familly room and were given two seperate rooms, after speaking to the staff on reception a few times they eventually agreed to move us into a nice clean adjoining room. After we arrived we decided to have a look around to see what entertainment there was, what a shock when we realised that there were only about 30 guests in the hotel, there were more staff than guests.
The hotel staff were friendly, the poolside chef was one to watch out for, as he never washed his hands after handling raw chicken. Needless to say a few people had dodgy tummies. All the restaurants were CLOSED ie: Italian, Chinese, Tex Mex, but they did open the Cadillac restaurant one night but the duke box was broke and they only served sandwiches which you had to wait one hour for. Most nights we ended up getting a taxi into Namma Bay to eat, as the hotel food wasnt nice. We had one nights entertainment, a belly dancer which lasted about 45 mins. The lazy river was broke and dirty, the boating lake, bowling alley, laser jets, internet cafe, ice cream bar were all CLOSED . Oh and don't bother complaining to the hotel rep(Wahleed) he will not listen to you. All in all we made the most of it, and one consolation is at least we had the whole beach to ourselves.

“An absolute disgrace”

We were supposed to be staying in the Star hotel but due to it being closed when we arrived 22nd July, we were put into this sister hotel. The advert for the Enternainment centre of Sharm is missleading and inaccurate. At times we were the only people around the pools and food was awful.
Food handling and food preperation left much to be desired and the Rep was usless. The hotel staff spoke very little English and it was very difficult ot get problems sorted out. Drinks were very expensive and higher than places such as the Shereton Hotel which was a "true 5 Star hotel" Reception consisted of three or four desks in a line and the experience of this hotel would leave me to advise avoid it like the plague.

The lazy river advertised was closed and the water was smelly and dirty. Nothing to do for kids at all. No evening entertainment

If you want a hotel which has few guests, only one bar open, plenty of space around the pool, no atmosphere, very poor food, high drinks cost and no entertainment at all, You have just found it.
