“Ghazala Gardens is a gem of a hotel, in a great location”

A fantastic hotel….. The location, atmosphere and the staff make it really special.

I have visited Sharm El Sheikh many times, and this was my second visit to the Ghazala Gardens…….. And !!! I love it, it is a brilliant hotel !!

Previously we always stayed in 5* hotels, and many of Sharm’s are simply stunning……We tried the Ghazala Gardens because of its location, and after visiting in 2010, decided that it was the special hotel we wanted to return to for our 25th Wedding Anniversary……. Why ??? quite simply the Ghazala has something that many of the other more luxurious hotels do not have……. Atmosphere, it has the most relaxing friendly ambience about the whole place…… It is just so special, that even a few negative points would not have made us choose another hotel for that special holiday…..The one negative point that many people mention, are some of the bathrooms….. Other than that it is as good., if not better than many of the 5* hotels.

The hotel is gorgeous, stunning entrance, atrium, terraces and public areas etc….. Staff in Restaurants, Pool and Bar are fantastic, very helpful and attentive…… But !! recently renovated, only some the rooms are !! …Of the six accommodation blocks, only 3 have been renovated…Nos 3, 5 and 6…… The other 3 blocks have not !! ….The bathrooms are tired, and in need of renovation…. But, the rooms themselves are immaculate, the housekeeping guys are great, and everything is very clean and tidy…. And an old bathroom was not that big a deal.

The hotel itself is in the most fantastic location, and the layout is excellent……Really nice terraces with a lovely atmosphere at night and the staff are just brilliant…..Both buffet restaurants are good with plenty of choice, both Italian and Mexican Restaurants are very good…… Correction ! The Italian is absolutely fantastic, the food was heavenly, definitely worth a few visits…. The Brazilian Restaurant O’Fogo’s , surrounding were beautiful, but I found the food was mediocre, not to my taste at all.

The bar and restaurant staff, are genuine courteous friendly guys, nothing was too much trouble and very attentive, they are a credit to the hotel.

Vicki in Guest Relations….. Worth her weight in gold to the hotel, dealt with any
queries with a smile, and happy manner, always patient and cheery… Arranged our
requests as we asked, nice to deal with, nothing is too much trouble……

Only problem we had, was resolved quickly…….I arranged a ground floor room in Block 2, because of spinal surgery, Vicki was excellent at dealing with my request and arranged everything…. But the night we arrived, there had been an air-con problem with a room, and reception had re-allocated, giving our room to someone else the day before…… This was annoying as they then put us in an upstairs room, just for the one night, and we were moved the next day….Someone changed things without knowing details behind our requests… Very Annoying !! … especially after a long tiring journey and arriving at night… Meant we could not unpack and our first day was messed up…… After being made aware of problem, they resolved asap… And we were given a ground floor room as we had requested the following day.

Summary, love this hotel, it has great atmosphere…. Overall standards are really excellent…… It’s location and layout are brilliant, and it’s fantastic staff are its biggest asset….

Negative Points: Old bathrooms not to same standard as other Red Sea Hotels I have stayed at…… But not enough to put me off , or to put other more luxurious 5* hotels in Sharm that I have stayed in above the Ghazala.

Sorry for delay in posting review, meant to have it done a month or two ago.

Room Tip: We like block 2 as it is very central and not too far a walk to the restaurants etc

Dear Amber04
I am thrilled to hear you chose Ghazala Gardens again to celebrate your special 25th wedding anniversary. This is a huge compliment for our hotel and its entire staff. The bathrooms in some of the rooms still need updating, in the meantime we work hard to ensure all the bathrooms are clean and safe to use. Many guests agree with you that the Italian restaurant” Little Italy” is their favorite but as everyone has different tastes we provide a variety of different cuisine to satisfy everyone. I apologize for the mix up with your room in the beginning but feel that the problem was dealt with quickly and efficiently and didn’t spoil your holiday too much.
It would be a pleasure to see you at Ghazala Gardens again and thank you for your comments.
Kind regards,
Guest Relations Manager

“Great times at Ghazala Gardens!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Just spent a great two weeks (5th - 19th Jan 2012) at the Ghazala Gardens. From arrival to departure the staff were excellent.
With the added bonus with using the facilities at the Ghazala Beach Hotel it made for a great experience. We have never seen a hotel kept so clean, they seem to be at it 24/7!
Being a predominantly Eureopean guest hotel approx. 65% it was great to have a guest relation team who represented all nationalities. They had Bianca & new Duty Manager Martin (mostly for the Europeans) who could also speak excellent English. They were fab!
For UK guests, it was Vikki she was excellent, nothing was too much for her. All our querries were answered immediately or requests in 1hour or so. Keep up the good work!
Regarding food, the hotel had an abundance of restaurants including al carte which you could also use on the All inclusive. They even had a bar & buffet restaurant at the Ghazala Beach Hotel for lunch and daytime drinks.
My wife who is a vegetarian was also told at anytime she couldnt find a hot dish etc that she only had to tell the matera-dee and they would make something suitable for her. We did this on two occasions and she was served very quickly and told "its our pleasure to serve you" EXCELLENT!
Propably, if they had a hot vegetarian corner then this could do away with this very small problem.
We have now stayed at 5 Red Sea Hotels in Egypt but we think this is the best yet, i.e. food, staff, location & not forgetting the Bar staff - thanks to Mohammond & Mustafa!
Minor points are that some areas of the hotel are a bit tired but this is soon forgotten when you see the wonderful hotel grounds especially when they are lit up at night.
We have already seen prices for next January from our Travel Agent and cant wait to go back.
Thanks & Best Wishes

“Excellent location for a holiday in Sharm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This is our second visit to the Ghazala Gardens and we were not disappointed. Some of the rooms are a bit tired but you have to appreciate that things are still in a turmoil since the revolution and everyone seems reluctant to spend any money until this is resolved so I think you just have to accept this and put it to one side. Our room had a lovely pool view and was very comfortable with the balcony getting the sun around 3 in the afternoon until it went down at 5 o'clock. January is a lovely time to get away on holiday and the weather was excellent as the temperature was perfect to allow you to lie in the sun all day, it was chilly at night but a fleece was enough to keep out the cold. One thing that the hotel had improved upon since our last visit was that the all inclusive package now allowed use of the Al La Carte restaurants, the Italian restaurant in our opinion was the best, the Brazil was also excellent and the weakest was probably the Mexican although it was still very good. The buffet restaurants are very good too, the standard of food overall was excellent and this combined with the hotel location, and cleanliness makes this a fabulous place to stay in Naama Bay. We will definitely be going back!!

Room Tip: Always ask for a pool view as these are the brightest rooms.

“Brilliant hotel”

Perfect hotel for a Winter sun holiday - an oasis of calm..
We ate "a la carte" every evening - no extra charge for drinks or food (unless you wanted lobster!) Food in hotel generally was healthy, good variety, tasty.
Staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was calm, relaxed and happy.
The beautiful complex is built around a river of individual swimming pools, bridges and islands - many dozens of palm trees and lush vegetation - very appealing to the eye.
No hassle of any kind to do or buy anything.
The beach was a pleasant walk just over the road, plenty of sunbeds and the beach bar there offered as many free drinks as you wished.
Tropical fish swam around your feet as you paddled and you can snorkel straight off the beach to amazing reefs teaming with fish and turtles.

Room Tip: Block 5 is the quietest if you have young children who need a daytime sleep. Everybody seemed happy...

“ideal location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

we stayed in this hotel the 1st week of dec 2011. it is in an ideal location just across the road from naama bay which is the main resort in sharm. the hotel was lovely so were the staff. we did find it a bit confusing at 1st though to find our room, we had to walk from the main lobby past the bar, past another out door bar & restaurant, then another restaurant and over a little bridge but we managed to suss it out after a day or so! there are 3 al la carte restaurants which you need to pre-book, 1 italian, 1 brazilian, 1 mexican. the italian was lovely, the brazilian i think would be best to google the menu before you book as we didnt have a clue wot we were eatin and had to send our 1st starters back of raw beef eeww which they were happy to exchange for another starter peanut butter soup which was tasty, we didnt go to the mexican so couldnt comment. it was easy to book trips with the rep in the hotel, we went quad biking in the desert which was fun, we also visited an area called soho square which was like a posh version of naama bay, we went to an ice-bar which was made purely of ice, we went bowling, there was an ice-rink there and outside entertainment, the best part of soho square was there were no hagglers!! the food was plentifull and tasty and we did not get an upset stomach. rooms were cleaned daily and received beach towels daily. there is a casino right next to the hotel. i had the best body massage ever in the sister hotel across the road, with an all over body scrub, it cost about £50 for the body scrub, followed by all over scrub in a steamroom, hand & foot massage & all over aromatherapy massage. all in all a lovely holiday, would go back to this hotel again if we decided to go back to egypt.

Room Tip: the lower the number the easier to find, we were in 5010
