“Beautiful, inside & out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012 via mobile

Stunning hotel : large and overwhelming overlooking the atlantic . Exclusive beach - excellent variety in all inclusive. Brilliant staff good animation team location a bit of a let down if you like to stroll around for local shopping. Since sharm is a purpose built tourist resort alot of the culture will be catered for via excursions which are handled excellently so we didnt really worry about that. Spoken to a few others while on tours together and everyone seemed quite happy with their hotels too as new hotels are in mass production!!

“Brilliant Hotel: But Mix feelings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

As it was our 1st wedding anniversary, we decided that Jaz belvedere would be our best destination. Its a brilliant Hotel BUT....

Amazing food, loved the breakfast, the lunch and the dinner. Was real yummy.
The staffs are just Amazing, i even got to styled my hair by Rambo on the beach. Really nice guy. We had Ali on beach as the bar tender, lovely guy. The guys in the restaurant worked all day really hard and still keep their charming smile.+ for the hotel.

MIX FEELINGS because the Food and Beverage manager, Mr Mohammad Denwich (sorry for bad spelling)made US crazy on our Wedding Anniversary Day. He just spoilt the whole day. I even write a letter to the General Manager that I do hope he is getting some retraining on customer service and approach to staffs.
He is always seen shouting on his Staffs badly, he is so money minded that i was so shocked. We was just in the Sisha corner trying to enjoy the warm evening and want to celebrate our day with a Bottle of champagne that cost us just 20 euros. He saw us and went straight mad at us and his staffs. My husband talked to him and asked him its ok we can pay the corkage fees. And he was shouting "No you have to pay tax! 50 pounds?????'' we were all surprised 50 pounds for a bottle we paid 20 euros !!!then we told him Ok how much if we want to buy the bottle ..He told us '' 200,000 Egyptian pounds!!!!'' we were shocked Crazyyyyy F&BManager. and we decided better not drink it in the hotel :( and later in the evening he sent every 2 minutes somebody to spy on us to make sure we were not drinking our bottle. This was absolutely Ridiculous and shameful from a F&B manager. No value for money at all on this Day!

The following days we spent in the hotel was great..thanks to the staffs who was so nice to us after that incident. Thanks heartedly to the whole staff who make our holiday a success.

The hotel animation is more concentrated for Italian, would be great if it would be more on an international basis. Like more nice music on the beach to keep the holiday spirit and even more music in the lounge bars and restaurants.Sometimes its too quiet.

Adam from the animation, Great guy.

Hmmm our holidays would be perfect if only we did not crossed Mr Denwich.

Overall PERFECT :)

Room Tip: Better view on the top floor with a sea view...

“Mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Having stayed in hotels in Naama Bay and Soho Square previously we decided to try this area for a quiet week in the sun. Sharm airport wasn't as bad as previous visits. We were the only passengers travelling to the Jaz so First Choice had organised a taxi which meant no hanging around waiting for others to be dropped off!
I was a little underwhelmed with the lobby initially as it seemed quite dull and colourless compared to other hotels. However on stepping further inside there was a beautiful view of the sea and Tiran Island from the terrace. Check-in was quick and painless and we were escorted to our room on the third floor in Bldg 19. I had previously emailed asking for a top floor room preferably with a sea view. I was not disappointed. The views were fabulous - one of the best ever. The sunrise over Tiran Island was worth getting up early for. Room was spotless and had towelling robes and slippers as well as the usual toiletries. So far so good!

The hotel is situated right on the beach but it is hugely disappointing. Don't expect to go snorkelling or see any fish from the pontoons. You have to go elsewhere for that. There were lots of jelly fish while we were there so even paddling was a problem.

I had read the reviews on TA prior to booking so knew there would be lots of Italian guests and very few from the UK. I was quite happy with that. However, what became clear very quickly was the difference between what we expect from a 'premier hotel' as described in the First Choice brochure and the reality of being surrounded by noisy Italian families shouting to each other even though they were feet apart. The animation team were even worse, playing loud techno music from 10am. One morning we had to listen to 40 minutes of Italian horoscopes over the loudspeaker system on the beach. There was no getting away from the noise even in your room. All the UK guests were complaining about this and we wrote a short note to management asking if it could be turned down a little. Other TA reviewers advised that the disco wasn't always open. Well I prayed every day for it to be shut. I like all sorts of music but once again all we could hear was techno music played from midnight to 1.30 to 2.00am. I eventually gave up trying to sleep and read until the music went off.

Following our complaint we met with the general manager who was very sympathetic and advised that the hotel was gradually moving away from the Italian Bravo animation type holiday to a more international venue. Change would take time but he would ask them to tone the noise down.

I'm aware this seems a very negative review but there were many positives. The staff in the hotel were the nicest, friendliest people you could ever hope to meet. Our room cleaner Mahmoud made the best towel art ever and kept our room spotless. The waiters Hamada and Abdul (Monti) couldn't do enough for us and we never once had to make our own coffee or tea in the morning. I took ill the last few days and the chef suggested I had the clear soup with lots of lemon juice squeezed over it. He said I would be better within 10 minutes - if only!!

Spirits were undrinkable but the red and rose wines were suprisingly good. However, this is the first all-inclusive we've been on where you had to pay for drinks from the minibar in the room. There is a shop only yards to the left of the hotel entrance where you can buy water and other soft drinks so not that much of a problem.

Food was good (by Egyptian standards) with a wide variety at both lunch and dinner. Breakfasts were fine - you could have an omelette or pancakes made fresh for you - or the usual continental breakfast which I prefer. Fresh coffee was available from the bars which was great.

Most guests didn't venture far from the hotel, but if you walk onto the beach and go past the Sol hotel next door you will see a pathway that follows the bay. You'll have to climb a few feet up a slope but the rest of the way is paved. This is a very pleasant stroll and takes you right along the seafront past the Baron and Sensatori Hotels where you can buy some nice souvenirs etc.

To sum up, the hotel is lovely, management and staff are excellent but would I recommend it? Not unless you understand Italian and like a family version of club 18-30. Not for me!

Room Tip: If you want to sleep before 2am don't take a room in bldg 19.

“Food and noise the biggest let down.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed from 8 - 19th Jan, in room 1018, a first floor with a wonderful sea view. The room was wonderful - hairdryer, free safety deposit box, dressing gowns, a tv with 3 english channels plus the news channel and a huge bed! There is a minibar also but this is payable, and its cheaper to go out of the hotel to the shop at the entrance to buy anything you might like. Currency exchange at the hotel reception was better than the UK and the airport upon landing, its open for one hour twice a day. Gogo was our cleaner and he did a great job, towel art and fresh flowers each day. The beach is very well kept and clean, plenty of parasols and loungers. No topless bathing allowed. The gardens are lovely to take a wander around, the grounds are quite large with tennis courts, archery and the 'teatro' etc. There are 3 pools, one of which is heated but we didnt sit around them at all, the reason for this is the VERY LOUD Italian animation team! They play unsuitable music - techno and heavy metal, while you try to sunbathe and when they do their activities, even if they just have 4 people infront of them joining in - they still insist on using the microphone! We were not the only guests to find this a problem, we did have a meeting with a manager to air our views so these comments will not come as a suprise to them when read. Smoking is allowed in the lobby bar, in certain areas, and at the bar which is not pleasant to non smokers when you go to get a drink. It also makes it difficult to join in the evening 'entertainment' as people are smoking all around that area. Locally produced spirits are included, as are white, red or rose wine and beer / lager which was quite nice. The food is typical all inclusive... (and I have done many) the usual kind of school canteen feel, what lets this particular hotel down is that the food was always at best luke warm and catered mainly for Italians, the bulk of their guests. The chefs will make you somthing else if asked and I did this for a few evenings because at least that way the dish prepared for you would be hot. Pizza are served hot from the bar outside but chips / burgers etc are not. The one thing which I did find an improvement on other hotels that I've stayed in Sharm is the nescafe coffee machines so you can have a latte or cappacino at anytime. I know from talking to the manager that they want to encourage more British guests but in my opinion some things will have to change if they want them to return time and time again. The serving staff in the restaurant are great. We had a wonderful rappor with our waiter 'Hamada' and would laugh and joke with him, he knew what drinks to have waiting for us in the evening and how we took our morning coffee and tea etc but the restaurant manager did not like this so would send him to work the kitchen instead, which did put a dampener on things as we missed the personal interaction. Do not go to this hotel if you want to snorkel and see lots of fish... there is no coral and no fish, but you can go out on a speedboat or do watersports from the jetty at a price. All in all, we wanted a break away in the sun and thats what we got - you cant fault the Egyptian weather but nice hot food wouldve made a big difference, as would gagging the Italian animation team!
