“Fantastic hotel!”

We stayed at Hyatt Regency, Sharm el Sheikh for 5 nights during our winter vacation in Egypt in January 2012. We were originally booked for two nights but we ended up extending twice (for a total of 5 nights) because we loved this hotel so much. The grounds are so beautifully maintained. They are even nicer than the pictures on the hotel's website. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The sea view is magnificent, and watching sunrise at our balcony was great. The hotel beaches are very clean, beautiful and relaxing. We saw colorful fish swimming around very close to the shore (in about 2ft deep water). The breakfast buffet is so plentiful and tasty. It's the best breakfast buffet I've ever had (and the largest I've ever seen). The fresh fruit juices tasted like they were squeezed only minutes ago. The hotel staff (every one of them) was so nice and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We were upgraded to a seafront room (with direct view of the beach) on check in without asking. On our last night at the hotel the receptionist helped us book a hotel in Cairo (we were flying to Cairo the next morning). When we left to the airport one of us forgot her purse at the room. The shuttle driver called the hotel and they found it and sent it to us (nothing was missing from it). The cleaning staff didn't even take the tip that we used to leave for them in the room unless we saw them and told them that this was their tip. I booked this on Expedia and got a reasonable price, and I would definitely return to, especially if I get a similar deal.

Room Tip: Every room at this hotel has at least a partial sea view, so no need to pay extra for seafront, and...

“Best Hotel in Sharm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Just back from a fantastic week at the Hyatt Regency, Sharm. Most relaxing week ever. Hotel is expensive (but you generally get what you pay for in life) and had about 40% occupancy due to recent troubles in Egypt and current economic situation. Not so good for them but great for us as guests as it was lovely and quiet and staff were falling over themselves to look after you. The service overall was second to none. Rooms are large and well equipped. Lots of hanging space, large, powerful shower rooms, bath, Super King-Sized double beds, seating and balcony with furniture and great views out to sea. Standard Sea-View Rooms are more than adequate. Rooms are cleaned every day and towels are all changed daily. Breakfast is plentiful in Cafe Fresco and served from 6:30am to 10:30am and being The Hyatt - if you turn up at 10:25am, no-one gives you a funny look but you'd need to be quick as the buffet itself would be closing. Choice of restaurants for evening meals - Cafe Fresco (buffet), Sala Thai (Thai food), The Souk - Snaxx - Chicken, Steaks, Lamb Shanks, chops etc, Wok (Chinese), Italian, Middle-Eastern and Fish. Evening entertainment is OK. Hotel grounds are huge and immaculately maintained. Olympus Spa is well worth a visit. Hotel pools are too plentiful to count and theres a "lazy river" too. Beach area is private to hotel and situated right on the reef. Swimming, snorkelling & diving are all excellent. The variety and colour of the fish is amazing. Beach Butlers bring your drinks & food to your sunbeds and you get 2 bath towels each. You can walk into Naama Bay for restaurants & shopping in about 25 mins or take a taxi for about 20-30 Egyptian Pounds. That's about £2.00 - £3.00. Naama Bay is a bit tacky but a bit of fun to haggle with the local shop-keepers for souvenirs. Try not to be mean and go for the cheapest price but rather think "what would I reasonable pay for this back home" and providing you get enough discount and a price that makes you happy - everyone wins. Had some good Italian food in Da Franco restaurant and decent drinks in the Palm Bar, both on the promenade walk behind Naama Bay beach close to rear of Marriott & Novotel hotels. Did two trips. 1. Snorkelling to Ras Mohammed National Park and 2. Star Gazing with Camel Ride & Bedouin Meal & Entertainment. Both great fun and worth doing. Went with Thomas Cook but flew from Bristoi with Thomson. Great flight just 4&1/2hrs.

“Wonderful Christmas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We spent Christmas at the Hyatt Regency with family, there were six of us. We all had either Club suites or Club rooms which meant we had the use of the Club beach, Club pool and Clubhouse. We only used the Club beach (not the main beach) which was lovely - comfy sunbeds, parasols, drinks bought to you etc. You could access the amazing reef directly from the beach or from the end of the jetty if the tide was low.

We only used the Club pool once as the beach was so nice. We didn't use the main pool but had a walk around it and it looked lovely.

Our room (sea view club room) was large and comfortable, a little dated but fine.

There was a large selection for breakfast every day. Most days we had lunch in the Beach House Restaurants and a couple of days we had lunch on the beach. We ate dinner every night at the Souk which was good as we could all have different types of food. The fish was particularly nice. The dessert section was also lovely with freshly made crepes, pancakes etc.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful but our favourites were Abdulah on the club beach and the dessert man (not sure of his name).

The hotel was decorated for Christmas including a huge Christmas tree in Reception.

We will definitely return in the future!

“Great hotel, friendly staff & very relaxing!”

We were impressed with this hotel as soon as we checked in! Our room was a seaview king room which had an excellent view of the Red Sea! Our king size bed was lovely and comfortable and the room was clean and had all the little amenities you needed. Room service daily was fantastic and the room was always made up very nicely. The buffet breakfast is great! Lots of variety and plenty to choose from. The best buffet breakfast I've ever had. The hotel itself was very clean and quiet! The pool area was quite and peaceful and not over crowed. The hotel is very well maintained and the staff are very friendly! The beach is nice and the reef off the pontoon jetty is amazing! So much marine life, you could spend hours snorkeling around the jetty. The restaurants are all very good! Sala Thai is a lovely restaurant, great quality food and very well decorated. Souk is also very nice! Lots of different variety of food to choose from with entertainment daily! Cascades and The Beach Hut restaurants for lunch were tasty, great service and very friendly. This is definitely a great hotel and a great place to stay, we will definitely visit again!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the upper floors if possible!

“Great Hotel for Sharm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

My partner and I stayed at this hotel early last year and had a wonderful time. The hotel itself is quite nice, the landscaping and gardens are kept well and the pool areas are big and of various sizes (I believe the pool is the biggest in Sharm).

For our stay we chose the club rooms which were all ocean front rooms. The added benefit of these rooms is that you get extra perks i.e. having your own pool area which are only available to all other club members (there were only 4 other couples at the pool so it was blissfuly quiet and relaxing), you able to eat breakfast in the Club Lounge which is very nice and sophisticated. Free drinks are served during the day either at your room or by the pool area. In my opinion it is definitely worth upgrading to the club rooms as the main pool areas were always busy and the main breakfest area was over crowded.

The waiters at the club pool were amazing. They always made sure you had drinks and brought fruit in the mornings with wet towels which was a nice touch. They actually went as far to ensure that we had the same pool beds every day (the beds were set for us each morning). This was great.

On the rooms thesmsleves, our room was very spacious and had a nice contemporary feel about it. There were no mosquitos which was very pleasing.

The hotel had a wonderful souk area which contained various restaurant of various flavours which tasted wonderful. They had an amazing Thai restaurant - the food was very good and the decor very cool.

Generally the staff were very helpful and made our stay relaxing and welcoming. The hotel itself is in a great location and only 5 minutes (by cab) from Naama Bay. However be prepared to haggle hard before you get into the cabs. They can't afford to refuse the business so make sure you start with a low figure.

If we return to Sharm again then I will definitely consider staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: Upgrade to Club Room.
