We stayed at the Domina coral bay aquamarine pool hotel for a week this August and we thought it was fantastic. The weather was beautiful all week and the resort has everything you could need. There are a number of lovely, large pools throughout the complex and luckily where we were staying, in building 55, we were in between two of the larger pools. The staff were all lovely, all speak very good english and will help you with anything you need. The beach is beautiful (although quite pebbly the nearer you get to the water) and the snorkelling by the shore is fantastic. We took a day trip to the ras mohammed nature park to snorkel for a day and found that the sea life was much better back at the shore! There are a large number of shops that are open 24 hours a day that have everything from food, drink and sun tan lotion to ghd hair straighteners! Although walking from one end of the complex to the other in the midday sun can be challenging, the 'taf tafs' come very regularly and take you to anywhere in the complex that you need to be. The food was good on the whole, we spent the majority of our trip eating at the la plaisirs restaurant as the food was equisitve, the service was excellent and the staff were so friendly! We also ate at the fish restaurant and the steak house, both of which were adequate but nothing too special.

Although our trip was mostly positive, there were a few downsides. Although the complex was very large and had everything needed for a beach holiday within it, it was very inclusive with not much in the neighbouring area which made it difficult to venture out into the the local towns or anywhere else in the area. Also, if you look for meeting new friends and vacationing with a lot of other English speaking guests whilst on holiday then I would not recommend this resort to you. Almost everybody staying in the complex was either Russian or Italian and even the staff seemed startled to hear English voices; one of the beach boys told us that we were the only English people he had seen in the resort all year! The entertainment is also all in Italian or Russian. Apart from this however, the resort was very enjoyable and although I will not be returning to this hotel because I personally enjoy the liveliness and entertainment aspect of my vacations, I would highly recommend it to those who are just after a relaxing holiday with lovely pools, sun and sea.
