It was and still is my first visit to Egypt so I have no other hotels to compare Amar Sina with. I was there with my girlfriend and despite the fact we both agree it was a fantastic vacation I’m afraid Amar Sina did not contribute much to that impression.
Anyway, pros: can not agree with other guys commented on the hotel food - the food was quite decent and various at dinners (breakfast kinda sucked); the bed is pretty big; good room service (especially if you leave 20 Egyptian pounds on a bed once)))); the hotel is located not so far from the market with very cheap and very delicious fruits & sea food and from the beach to go snorkeling and watch hundreds of various kinds of fish and corals.
Cons: cold (no warming up – it was in December 2010) swimming pool; they apply some really stinky anti-mosquito smoke on the premises every day so you have to be careful and close windows in your room in advance to prevent your room from stinking; it happened a couple of times when I had a feeling a guy from hotel service was high or drunk; very poor entertainment programme; roof REALLY leaks when it rains; when we’d ordered a strawberry fresh at the hotel bar we asked a bartender a few times not to put any water in the fresh – he mixed strawberries with water about 50:50 anyway and then swore that there was not a single drop of water in the glass. What the f***?
Resume: Don’t make me wrong, I’m not trying to condemn the hotel or show it from the bad side as our experience in Sharm was quite good actually. Though I don’t think I would return to this hotel one day.
