“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2008

im wondering if everyone here is talking about the same hotel?! I went a good few years ago but it was brilliant. I admit i was terrified about going toEgypt, hadnt a clue what to expect but was very pleasantly suprised when we got into the hotel. The reception is extremely basic and its not a grand entrance unlike others the cab stopped at but walking through the hotels ground to get to our room was lovely. The pool was a really good size and the hotel building reminded me a little of Alladin! All white with tiny windows everywhere, patio areas overlooking the pool. The rooms were extremely spacious with twin beds and fantastic air conditioning system. The rooms were tastefully decorated to a clean feeling with egyptian touch.

The bar service around the pool was not to be faulted. Thebreakfast was a buffetand mainly of sweat breads that i can remember. There was a mini restarant at the front of the hotel which had a dinner menu.

If i could change anything about it at all i would pick it up and put it slightly closer to the diving shops and restarants. It was very close to all the lovely beaches and shops already but i hate walking more than half mile in that heat!!

  • Liked — The egyptian feeling!
  • Disliked — the fact you had to walk about a mile to the main shops etc

DO NOT...under any circumstances book a holiday in this hotel.
To begin with, as you pull up outside the hotel you get this 'I hope its better on the inside' feeling.
The hotel decor is very 1980's chic Eastern Bloc, lots of yellow and peach pastels.
The 'reception' desk consists of....a desk!!!!! with a sorry looking man sat behind taking complaints from various Russian/Polish/Eastern Bloc dissatisfied guests.
The room itself was satisfactory ie clean and bright but nothing special..on par with a Travelodge, so hardly the 5* we were expecting.
Meal times were a true nightmare!!!!!
It was a free for all at each food station...salad..'hot' food and dessert.
The food itself was on par with a bus drivers canteen....i'm laughing now but when you've paid £650 each for one week, you honestly feel like crying.
We asked for a glass of water with breakfast, but as the all incusive free 'bar' does not open till 10am we had to buy a bottle of water...absolutely outragious dont you think.
Outside the pool area is....just.....a pool with beds and umbrellas.
No money spent on any niceties at all.
The greenery was brownery!!!! not been waterered for I dont know how long.
The all inclusive drinks bar is so basic I serve a wider range of drinks in my own house.
We tried to get the local rep to change our hotels , and he avoided us like the plague...............I could go on and on.
We ended up going to the hotel next door and paying an extra £250 to use their all inclusive facilities, they saved our bacon.
I was actually willing to fly home on the second day it was so bad.
DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL AT ANY COST...is our advice.
We booked via the net through a company called Atlas Travel working out of Greece.
Just be very careful and do your homework before you spend your money.

“HOTEL FROM HELL - DON'T GO THERE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2007

This hotel is not a 5* hotel it is more like a 2* and is diabolical. The service was terrible, the food was always served cold, the room's were old looking with sixties inspired furniture. The phase 'all inclusive' consists of a rotten burger at the Tiki Bar which will probably give you E Coli food posioning as it did me and a selection of watered down drinks which you have to go outside the hotel for. There are no shops near by and you'll probably get ripped off by the cab drivers by a few hundred Egyptian pounds when catching a cab from the hotel.

On New Years Eve the water coming out of the sink taps and bath was thick with dirt and prevented us from washing (see attached images). The representative's at the hotel are useless and the staff hardly speak a word of English. Not to mention the fact that there is not a single woman working in the hotel (even the maids are men). My advice to you is to get a refund fast if you have booked to stay here.

One word sums up this hotel:- CRAP!!!!! Arrived hogmany for a two week holiday, finally got moved with four other british parties on 3rd Jan. This is not a 5star hotel, it does not even rate 3 star. Unhelpful staff, no facilities available as stated and All Inclusive drinks only available in a plastic cup from a pool bar outside!! Any drinks from the bars inside the hotel must be paid for!! The previous reports were obviously written about a different hotel.

Cocktails and service was excellent. my only issue was when fell ill after eating something in the bar food area. eep. I intend on going back though!! heh. And I shared a room with my sister and everyday they made us funky things out of the towels. air con was pretty damn fgood too. i really loved the rooms!!
