“Had a nice time but wouldn't go back!”

2 adults and active toddler. Chose Sensatori as it was a luxary hotel with good facilities for Kids. The hotel has everything you need but some things definately need tweeking. Childrens pool (pirate ship pool and paddling pool in main area) were absolutely freezing and nobody used them. The restaurant served lunch from 12.30pm which I think is too late for young children. Should be open from 12pm, all a la carte restaurants didn't open until 1pm so didn't get to use any of them. The snack pool bars at main and family pool stopped serving food and drink at 4pm. My son has his tea at 5pm and there was nowhere to get him any food. restaurants opened at 6.30pm which was too late for him.

Staff would still knock on the door and press buzzer when 'do not disturb' sign was put out. This happened most days.

Free Wifi should be available in all rooms.

Access to the pool area from our room was difficult, had to get 2 lifts, walk through piano bar, lobby area, reception and the cocktail bar then get a lift just to get to the ground floor. There should be a lift from all floors down to ground level.

Hotel room was excellent, we upgraded to the Suite which was worth every penny. The swim up rooms and standard rooms have tiny balcony areas that are fully open.

In a nut shell, suggestions I would make for the hotel to be improved:
More suitable Restaurant opening times
At least 1 bar should be open all day serving drinks and snacks
Swimming pools for children should be warmer as they are not being used
Free Wifi in the rooms
Better quality food served in restaurant and not so repetative, it is not 5* quality and could be much better.

“Very Relaxing”

Hotel Excellent.
We had swim up room in Family area with Sea view, superb.Very clean, sheets & towels changed every day.

Food was good, had better though. Waiter ( cant remember his name ) was great, couldnt have given us better service. Went to 2 of the other restuarants, one on the beach & the Italian, both very good.

Couldnt have had better service in the restuarants or bars. Ahmed ( young lad on beach bar service ) was brilliant, Came from Cairo, couple of new kids he said he had, he was a credit to Hotel, he couldnt do enough for you.

Beach not great, but we are used to American beachs which are superb.
Snorkelling amazing, you must do it, if you dont you would regret it, even more colourful & amazing seeing coral & fish under water.

Cant say much about area as didnt venture far or into town, we did walk along the path to the headland every morning past other hotels & that was pleasant.

All in all, a very relaxing holiday, weather was great every day, temps 22-25 & sun all day

Room Tip: At this time of year have a swim up room in the family area with sea view

“Fantastic hotel”

My wife and two young boys stayed here for a week. It's a fantastic hotel, really well set up for families with young children... The nursery, run by UK staff, was excellent, and the evening entertainment for the kids was good fun. Our boys loved going on the jetty every day to see all the fish and then played on the playground on the beach.

A tip - visit the 'Sensatori Egypt 2011' page on Facebook before you travel - it's a great place to get tips and information from other people who've aready visited the hotel!

“Initially - Wow!! Overall - Okay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We arrived at Sensatori after a week on the Red Sea Magic Cruise with Thomson, staying on the Thomson Celebration. That week was perfect, so the week at Sensatori had a high standard to beat. On arrival, everything went smoothly and after being taken to our swim up room (3145) we found we had the perfect room. Sun all day and a view of the sea in the adult area.

Positive - Room was cleaned to a very high standard daily, and Mohammad at the adult bar was brilliant, personally delivering drinks on a regular basis. The bed was massive and very comfortable. Decor in the room was lovely and the lighting was romantic. Alcohol gel was available in all eating areas, and neither myself or husband were ill on holiday. The Italian restaurant was our favourite, but the booking system meant that we could only book it once whilst we were there as it was very popular. Hotel being on the beach ...

Negative - Food wasn't up to the standard of the ship and was only available at certain times of the day (we were used to 24hr availability on the ship). The waiters were not always the quickest in the restaurant, and weren't very fluent in English. Despite being in the adult section of the hotel, we were woken up daily by children entering two of the rooms, who despite being advised by the reception there were no children in the area, they were with Italian adults and looked like they were staying there. The use of granite everywhere looked lovely but did nil for the acoustics. The music in the piano bar made having any conversation difficult and distorted the music. Also, any talking in the corridors echoed and the noise caused by moving furniture was exaggerated by the granite. Both these noises caused earlier mornings than I wanted. The booking system for the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. We had to take time out of our day to stand in a queue to book for dinner only to find that on the night, the restaurants were only partially filled, so there was no atmosphere. A better system would be to book on the evening or at least have last minute availability in case people don't turn up. The food in the American restaurant (Tiran) through the day was good, but on the night we had booked to go there, the steaks had no flavour at all. We did tell the waiters, but nil was done. Entertainment, compared to the cruise was no comparison. The main shows were not on a nightly basis and in the main show area, it was too big, so no atmosphere. The show cast were not as entertaining as we had experienced the week before. The best night was the comedy show was the best night, but was held in the smallest area and there was not enough space for all that wanted to attend.

Snorkelling was great, and the proximity to the beach was perfect. Shame the weather wasn't!!

We would defiantly go on a Thomson Cruise again, but we won't be visiting Sensatori Egypt again (maybe try the other hotels). It wasn't that it was really bad, it just wasn't really good and we would rather pay the money have a have a really good holiday on the ship where there were no negatives.

Room Tip: Swim up rooms in any weather are worth the extra. They are heated unlike a number of the other pools...

“A Fantastic Chill Out !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We had a hectic 2011, moved house/county, middle daughter produced twin boys and lots of other stress builders. We wanted a total "chill out" and on recommendation booked the Sensatori. The whole experience was great at this super hotel. Facilities, food, drinks were excellent, particularly everything in the Moroccan restaurant and the burgers in the American. But the staff were the icing on the cake - absolutely brilliant - go there!

Room Tip: Go for a swim up room in the adult area
