“An Xcellent holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed at Xperience Sea Breeze for a week in February 2012 in block 18 which has excellent sea-views from the balcony. The area the hotel is located at is still undergoing development, therefore there are only a handful of shops and a pharmacy nearby, but the hotel runs a free shuttle-bus to Naama Bay (be prepared to be hassled here!) and Soho Square is only a short taxi-ride away.
The main restaurant is located above reception where all three meals take place, but you can also have lunch at the Elements restaurant by the sea-front pool. They serve mainly pizzas, salads, pasta dishes and sandwiches. Dinner is themed every night and rotates fortnightly including French, Italian, Indian, Seafood, Maroccan, Swiss, Oriental etc. We always managed to find something we liked, but admittedly some nights are better than others. Most importantly everything is washed in mineral water and that's what they use to make ice for as well so there is no sign of tummy bugs. During out stay the price of fresh orange juice was clearly marked and there was also a price list for the mini-bar in our room.
The Elements restaurant offers a 'Romantic meal' on the jetty which we would highly recommend to anyone staying at this hotel. For £50 / couple you get a bottle of bubbly and a five course meal (lobster, king prawns etc), the seafood served by Mohamed was probably the best we have ever had!

The main selling point of this hotel is its staff, they are all made our holiday memorable, special thanks to Ali, Adel, Mohamed and Ahmed from Your bar, Mohamed at Elements and Said from the pool bar.
I could go on for ages, but all in all this a lovely new hotel (I am not using the word 'resort' on purpose) probably best suited for couples. During our stay there was a real feeling of community which is due to its size. The management welcomes feedback and they keep an eye on Tripadvisor too so they can improve their services which is always a good sign. We would love to return to this hotel!

Room Tip: The sea-view deluxe rooms are definately worth paying extra for!

“What an Xperience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Have just returned from Xperience Sea breeze resort and for the first time felt like writing a review just because I and my wife had an extremely pleasurable Xperience (pardon the pun) with the Holiday

The hotel itself slopes down towards the sea. My wife has arthritis in the spine and although found walking down OK she had difficulty walking up. This was not a problem as the staff informed us on arrival that if we required transport up or down we merely had to press 0 (zero) on the phone and ask for a complimentary ride which would pick us up at our room and take us to the reception or ask at reception for a ride down to our room.

First let me say that the Hotel itself is new, the standards are high. The rooms are really nice, there was a HD TV, Fridge, kettle, hair dryer (in a drawer). There was also a free safe to store passports etc. we had the shower option there is also a Jacuzzi option. The rooms were cleaned each day in our case by a pleasant always smiling chap called Mohamed who left bottled water coffee sachets creamer sugar and tea bags and mugs every day of our stay.

The staff were always helpful with a sense of humour, Mohamed our cleaner would leave animals cleverly created out of towels in our room that always brought a smile to our faces.

At the lower pool (there are about 3 swimming and numerous others) Said was in charge of the drinks and Sahwil (I hope I have spelt his name correct) was in charge of the towels. There is a restaurant by the lower pool and the two chaps both named Mohamed took care of our snacks. The lower pool also has a bar and here both Said and Medhat looked after us. All of these people made our stay an extremely pleasurable experience.

The Main restaurant served a themed night that rotated over two weeks with a good selection of food. For the English be aware the Fish and Chips use the American meaning of chips (i.e. crisps) LOL.

“Great holiday”

Stayed at the Xperience from 2nd - 9th Feb. The hotel is very modern, reception area is lovely and reception staff eager to help.
We stayed in block 14 which is halfway down the hill. The room to be fair was lovely and the bed was massive. We tipped our maid a small amount daily and he made us some wonderful towel animals and made our room very pleasant.
We mainly stayed at the bottom pool and special thanks to Said and Samwuel for being so attentive. I must say all the staff were always pleasant and polite even staff we had little contact with.
We mainly eat lunch and dinner at the Tiran buffet restaurant. Though not as extensive as other hotels we've stayed in, there was always one or two things that were really tasty plus an amazing salad bar that could always be the fallback. We had no stomach problems either which is a good sign.
We had dinner in the paid for Elements restaurant and it was excellant. We even had the romantic meal on the jetty, which is amazing and the most romantic experience I've ever had. Mohammad really is attentive and make's it ever so special.
With the resort being quite small you meet lots of people, we spoke to so many different people and made some really good friends and had such a laugh.
The hill isn't that bad and if your not elderly or infirm isn't a problem. It helped keep the pounds off from the over indulgence.
Only negative point was that we paid for 24hrs of WIFI and for the whole week it wasn't working.
Best compliment I can make is that I'd go back tomorrow if possible.

“Overall a very good Xperience”

Stayed at Xperience Sea Breeze Resort from 12th Jan to 19th with my other half.`

I have a couple of negatives to get out of the way first. ‘Amir’....not a fan. He was overbearing and outright leachy I found. He always seemed to pop up when all you wanted was some peace and quiet. However he is one person and I found the rest of the staff professional . Second niggle: The room whilst it was fantastic with the most comfortable of beds and great view (stayed in block 1800 (deluxe with sea view)...I have to be a little critical on the bathroom. I read all the previous reviews and thought things like ‘the grouting’ wouldn't really be an issue..and whilst it was sloppy and didn’t impact my stay ..other bathroom faux pas such as shower section not retaining the water and a moving shower screen could have been prevented by decent design/installation. However I didn't deem it serious enough to report to staff and it didn't detract from a great holiday so it's more of a note to the people at Xperience to take on board and hopefully make some changes for the better. Those issues remedied along with the grouting would make it pretty perfect.

I have to give a shout out to some staff who I think are a credit. Mohammed at Elements, Ayman (star of the show), the Tiran waiters and chefs, Ibrahim and the other guys at Your Bar whose names escape me.

Food

The food was a very good standard. We were going to try the Al la carte (Elements) but in the end didn’t feel the need to as the all inclusive food was to a very high standard.
Tiran: The variety of food was very good and a different theme each night prevented an monotony. The deserts were amazing. Looked forward to those every day.
Pool Bar: We ate lunch here on most days and indulged in the pizza, burgers, chicken sandwich and chips..etc

Room

As mentioned earlier. Very comfortable room and bed. I struggle to sleep in new surroundings, but was out like a light each and every night. Shower could do with some improvements. The room had a large flatscreen tv which had a large amount of channels. I found 3 channels that showed alot of American films so you could get some good viewing. The room came equipped with mini fridge, safe, hairdryer and kettle. Each day a new bottle of water was also delivered to you. Even though we had the deluxe room with sea view, I think if I went back we'd opt for a basic room next to aqua pool as that's where we spent most of our time and the private Jacuzzi didn't really get used.

Bars

We attended Your bar each night and ventured to Zen bar a couple of times as it's next to our room. Very nice all inclusive cocktails and the barmen did a very good job of creating their own cocktails for you.

Entertainment

The entertainment was ok. It didn’t seem to the standard of a Thomson, but it was still good. The animation team did seem to put a lot of effort into providing this for guests.

Facilities

The gym was very well equipped. I was quite surprised by this. There is an on site shop where you can get all your souvenirs. It’s the same stuff that you can get outside of the hotel so it's more convienent that it's on your doorstep. One word....haggle!!. I don't think they liked me much afterwards :o) The beach was not a beach in the true sense , but still very nice and it did enhance the view being a couple of levels up. The diving school was brilliant. Never thought I’d do diving, but it was so cheap ..I thought I may as well. Great experience!! Also there were other activities such as banana boat, parasailing..etc Lots of swimming pools to choose from and plenty of available sun loungers to utilise.

Trips

The hotel had its own rep that dealt with trips so don't worry about arranging your own beforehand. Ahmed was a very professional guy and outlined everything that was available to do. Again found this reasonably priced so did quite a few. Star gazing (included Camel ride in desert, dinner and meeting the desert people), Glass bottom boat trip and quad biking. All really good trips.

Miscellaneous

* Worth noting that if you go for the sea view room you'll be at the furthest rooms away from main entrance, Tiran restaurant, shop ..etc You are next to to Zen Bar, Pool Bar and Elements al la carte restaurant . As all Inclusive breakfast, lunch and dinner served at Tiran..it's worth considering as it's a 5 to 7 minute walk uphill. Although if this does become too much reception can arrange a little shuttle bus to your room and back any time you wish it.

* Money accepted in Hotel and in general I guess. Euro, British Pound and American Dollar. So no real need to exchange money before setting off

* I read a couple of references to noise from the animation team. We stayed in a room right in front of the beach pool where they played the music and we barely heard a thing. If your balcony door is closed then no noise can get in :o)

All in all a great holiday. A few minor niggles, but it didn’t stop us from have a truly excellent holiday at a fantastic resort.

“Disappointment!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Not sure if we were staying at the same hotel as the rave reviews...... Didn't have a great start when we arrived and it took two people to show us to our room one to unlock the door and wait for the tip and the second one to bring our cases in from the bus which was parked directly outside our door and wait for a tip. Then start our problems........ Lack of information on the Cosmos website that the mini fridge was not free. What is the first thing that u do when you arrive in your room? Have a beer! Bad idea when you see get the bill the following morning, having just been charged for the fresh juice at breakfast (never paid for it on AI) before. Spoke to the English rep who was quick to tell us that we should have read the room info before doing anything and that obviously named brands would not be free, then we got the bill for the small bottle of water in the fridge. We then asked for the wi-fi code and were told we would also have to pay for this - Cosmos make your website clearer! The hotel should make sure that at the time of checking in that reception staff make some of these points clearer ie safe free of charge fridge/OJ not! Not to harp on but I have been going on AI holidays all over the world for the last 17 years and have never come across a situation that on the day you check out you have to pay for or you don't get served, Going back to the Cosmos rep we did what he had said and read up on the room info which had said that the day you check out you have to pay after midday spoke to the rep and he assured us that this was not the case here (apparently according to him that this was one of those rare hotels where you would get everything free until you leave). There was no problem while we were at the entertainment pool before and after lunch. Later in the day we went to the middle pool bar for a snack and drinks and were told that they could not serve us unless we paid for the food and drink, told him that we had also checked at reception that morning and the guy had phoned up and was told that there would be no problems with being served during the day. He then called the office and was told that he was not allowed to serve us. Once my husband started to complain that he didn't expect this sort of treatment the pool manager decided to come up to the lobby bar an then all of a sudden because we were complaining it was all a misunderstanding, kind of ruins the end of a holiday when you are getting wound up!! Mohammed at Elements and the staff in the lobby and pool bar plus the chefs were all great. Stayed at Club Magic in July no comparison.
