“Fantastic. Fantastic. Fantastic.”

Well we have just returned from the fabulous Royal Savoy, our second visit and not the last, the attention to detail and cleanliness of the Hotel is a true credit to the staff.
It's hard to know where to start but here goes, Lovely spacious room with great balcony, very comfortable beds and pillows, tea and coffee facilities, flat screen t/v with lots of u/k channels, films, sport, news. Mini bar, safe, fresh flowers in room, great air con. Superb room service.
The Royal Savoy now has a third swimming pool just for there guests so never a problem finding a great place to relax. The pool staff were just great sunbeds everyday positioned correctley for us with lovely fluffy Royal Savoy towles (thanks Alli ) The pool bar service was somthing quite special, fresh fruit, crisps, nuts brought to you on arrival and the staff allways noticed if your glass became empty, they would be there in a flash with more water, beer (thanks Mohamid).
Well onto food the choice is simply amazing, Bombay (Indian) Zen (chinese) Rosamarimo (Italian) Hot rocks (steak) are but to name a few, we were there for 11 nights and could have ate in a different venue every night, lots of these restaurants also have some form of entertainment as well. Prices for a meal for 2 with drinks were approx £50 £70 and in many cases less, and the food is truly 5 star.
Soho square is a real bonus to the Hotel we would get a free buggy ride most nights to the many shops, restaurants, there is also a supermarket, pharmacy, ice bar, night club, British pub with English tv and good basket meals, Soho square feels a very safe environment.
We have stayed in Egypt many times before including the Four Seasons but in our opinion this Hotel as an overall package is better and more relaxing, and the staff speak good English.
The Hotel arranged a free private Taxi transfer to and from the airport which made the holiday even more relaxing, they wisked us through collected and dealt with our luggage checked us in escorted us through to passport control all within 10 mins, it made the procces easier and no airport stress. (thanks George) Lastley I have read some of the previous reviews and some people talk about building work we really honestly feel this is unfair to the Hotel as what little work was going on is not worth talking about, no noise, no dust, and the building work is all cleverly hidden behind screens. Other people talk about towles not being fluffy !!! well all the towles we had WERE fluffy and like new.
An overall summing up of this Hotel would be exellent, the friendliest staff you will find in Egypt total cleanliness, fantastic choice and quality of food, spacious rooms, excellent value for money,
only 10 mins from the airport, what more could you want, and NO funny tummies !!! we are going back in November. Hany thank you so much your staff are the best.

“Room for improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Just arrived back form the Royal Savoy last night The hotel is nice although i feel there is some room for improvement– large bedroom well maintained. My only issue with the room is that the bath tub was a bit small and seems to have been resurfaced with some sort of non-slip coating that had gone off-white and made bathing a bit unpleasant. The room had a nice large balcony overlooking the pool with matching wicker furniture and was always cleaned to a high standard little upset we did not get any of the towel art but just nit picking

Collection from the airport and returning was great missing all the queues.

The private lounge is comfortable but the bar (like all the bars in the hotel and Soho Square) is a bit limited on choice no brandy one of the other problems was that if you want to have a drink on an evening you have to use the savoy bar or Soho sq with children running around i did think it would have made sense if they had opened the lounge in the royal savoy as a bar on an evening for the extra we paid .The local beer was quite good and the Egyptian wine was a very pleasant surprise!

it could have been more exclusive as while eating breakfast there was topless sunbathers just outside the lounge on beds belonging to the Savoy We went s class and for the extra cost i am not sure it is worth it as the Savoy get the same vouchers but it is £1000.00 less to stay there.

Lots of choice outside for lounging, The pools are fabulous and mostly heated to some extent or another. The lower pool at the RS was particularly warm. RS guests also have access to an outside hot-tub, sauna and steam room. Poolside service was very good. There was some building work going on adjacent to the RS pool area, but apart from being a bit unsightly, we weren’t disturbed by the going-on work

The staff is what make the RS special from Samuel at reception Ali at the pool Mohammed and Hussein at the Safari bar and of course the egg man Faragh to name a few this is just a few of the many staff we were impressed with and made our holiday special

The restaurants at the hotel and Soho square were very good and we did not have a bad meal but sometime cold and the entertainment what we saw was good
until the new part of the hotel is opened we could not give it 5* would we go back yes and could be in the next few weeks

“Unforgetable Week - Absolutely Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I stayed at the RS in December with three friends. The experience was perfect from the moment we arrived at the airport. George and his team ensured we were thru immigration quickly and we were greeted on arrived in the lounge with a glass of champagne. The service from all the staff was superb with particular mention going to Vishoy, the waiter by the beach, who just could not do enough for us. The food overall was very good, the seafood restaurant by the beach and breakfast in the lounge were both excellent!
We had two adjoining rooms, both decorated beautifully with large bathrooms and great views. There was some building work going on, but we didn't hear any noise.
Lastly, the scuba diving was a real treat.
Thanks RS for a truly fantastic weekend. The Wigwams

“ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We had a pleasant week in the Royal Savoy in January although I feel there is some ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT

-On the positive side I would include

*very good pick up at the airport helping with the pasport control
*good room although the advertised 'sea view' is restricted and is mainly a 'pool view'
*superb service from beach waiters and spa staff, very good service from waiters in savoy lounge
*good choice of restaurants in soho square with aceptable prices.

-On the areas I feel the hotel management could improve I would include

*the hotel clearly states that hey have a 'no groups policy' however we were disapointed to see tha they have a GROUP OF ABOUT 20 TEENAGERS in one of their villas who were VERY NOISE AND INTIMIDATING for other guests at times in the beach-swimmin pool area-restaurants-soho square...
*the RECEPTIONISTS offered consistently BELOW AVERAGE SERVICE more suitable for a 3-4 starts hotel than for a self-proclaimed 'vip hotel'. They were ABRUPT and UNCOMPETENT several times and I feel they were WELL BELOW the very good level of customer service that we received from rest of the staff in the Royal Savoy
*After a seven days of having complementary drinks in beach and lounge we were disapointed that the receptionist told us that we could not have more complementary drinks in our last day from 15.00 onwards. (We never had this in any other hotel with a similar package and definitely would not expect it from a 5* hotel)

-On the areas for the near future I feel the future guests need to watch out

*They are finishing several rooms as an extension of the Royal. Although I understand that the new area has its own reception & lounge I am CONCERNED that the big increase in guests for the Royal has the POTENTIAL to make the beach area-pools & other common areas VERY CROWDED (unless they extend the beach area and put more tents...)

When we go back to Sharm in the future I think is worth it that you check and compare the latest reviews before consider to book the Royal or perhaps try one of the other very good top 5starts hotels

Dear Guests

Thank you for taking time to writing a review ,we appreciate your constructive comments ,which will lead us for continues improvement of our services.

Our group and children policies are applied to Royal Savoy rooms, however villas are welcomed for the families,as they have their own recreation facilities including pools.20 teenagers been referred were in fact friends (over 25 years old ) who decide to book 2 villas instead of 10 rooms in royal savoy and they were not using private facilities of royal savoy .

We are very concern about comment of reception service the matter will going to be addressed to concern department in order to assure ,that it will be not reoccur in the future.
As per hotel policy the standard check out time is at 12:00 am ,to extend the services royal savoy guests are having possibilities to use facilities till 15:00.
Due to the high demand of Royal Savoy we are currently upgrading our facilities and rooms.
We look forward to welcome you again in royal savoy with our newly upgraded facilities and accommodate all your demands,as we are sure, that your next experience will be positive one.

Once again I would like to thank you for feedback.

“Regretfully Disappointed........”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Stayed in this hotel a couple of weeks ago……I totally agree with the comments made by reviewer tengallon of St.Andrews…..they are a very accurate reflection of our experience and opinions.
To add however, the ‘meet and greet’ service provided by the hotel is outstanding - George and his driver are to be commended on the level of speed and service in getting us through the airport formalities during our arrival and departure, they were second to none.
The RS private pools are very well maintained, the water very warm with good pool bar service but there were occasions when non RS guests passed through – as it was quiet no real issue…but at full capacity there would be no exclusive feel at all.
We were very disappointed with the number of restaurants that were closed each night…..due, we guess, to lack of guest numbers and our experience of those in Soho Square were so poor we would not return. Be aware that RS guests are charged for what they consider to be ‘premium’ drinks, e.g. Jack Daniel’s etc. during Happy Hour
With regret, we have to conclude this is not a true 5* hotel……unlike the Four Seasons next door, that we consider to be the benchmark.
We too, remain undecided as to whether we would return or recommend…..there would need to be a considerable uplift in quality of facilities after the refurb has been completed…..we await the reports of others when it has ‘settled in’ after these major (and at times noisy) works.

Room Tip: Be aware of major building works in RS block
