Bit late on posting this review, stayed here for two weeks in September/October 2011.
Paid for a superior room in the Senses resort, the room was as expected and the Resort was even better.
At this time of year we expected the resort to be quiet and refurbishment to be going on. This never disturbed us over the two weeks we were there.
Yes, the Senses was open to all but as the main restaurant was closed as well as the Moonlight restaurant on the beach, it had to be available, probably different in peak saeason.
We tend to eat later like the Europeans and had no problem with the Senses Restaurant or the Grill.
The Italian restaurant was not as good but word is there are big plans for next season for new restaurants around the entertainment area .
By far the best bar in the SENSES resort is the patio bar, at lunchtime it was refreshing to be able to walk the short distance from the pool ( closest about 5 metres, furthest 50 metres), short order menu cooked to order and the only place to get icecream (1300-1600).
The staff at this bar were fantastic, always a smile and good service.
Beach is a walk, about 10 minutes downhill, ok if you are reasonably fit ( shuttle from reception otherwise). Guy at the towel stand (CITY!!) was always happy to find a sunbed for you,and what can I say about the Reef...... no seen anything like this, wade out to you knees just on the sand and fish are swimming around you.
Snorkel out to the coral and it is spectacular, clams, muti-coloured fish , absolutely beautiful.
Visited the spa at ROBR for a massage and a pedicure. The girls are very good, best pedicure I have ever had.
Last but not least I must mention the Pharmacy which is located in the parade of shops on the way to the beach.
I work in the NHS and was impressed by the knowledge of the pharmacist and he soon realised that we were health professionals and knew what medication to ask for.
Take his advice if you come down with the dreaded trots, he is quite correct about the hot climate and bacteria multiplying !!!
We enjoyed our time at ROBR and hope to return again .,
