If you expect amazing food, constant activities and things to do or a night life within walking distant, I'm afraid this is not the hotel for you. However, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, with very pleasant and well mannered staff and beach activities then come here.
We went at Christmas 2009 and it was the best Christmas I have ever had-
Room- The room was very basic and was nothing special but was cleaned every day and on Christmas day a stocking was left with a few gifts inside e.g. chocolate. We tipped the houseman on the final day as he would do anything to assist you.
Food- The all inclusive food is just average. I was shocked that there was no bacon or sausage as although it is not a halal meat I know other restaurants in the area served this food. The food was quite basic but the pasta station was very nice where you could go up and ask for a pasta to be made however you like it. The best thing was on Christmas Eve (which they thought was Christmas) they organised a formal ball type dinner in a hall and provided very good entertainment and a scrumptious feast. The food that night was amazing and I wish it had been like that all week. They served fresh sea bass which was delicious and a range of puddings which I helped myself to constantly. We never ate out once but I would recommend maybe trying it.
Entertainment- Within the package the animation team worked hard but the entertainment was not always in English and not always up to standard. On the private beach a lot of local people providing entertainment try to sell quad bike days or paragliding which all looked great but was costly. With the Thomas Cook rep we were able to go to Sharks Bay and see the clubs such as the Hard Rock Cafe and the night out there was great. We smoked Schicha and drank and it was one of the best nights out I have had.
Service- The hotel staff are some of the most friendliest. At the main bar there was a staff member named Alfi and he was very pleasant making any drinks you wanted him to and had banter with us all. I personally felt we were treated like royalty constantly being asked if we need anything and them doing everything they could to help us.
Pool- Freezing although the poolside bar was good. I much preferred the private beach and actually went snorkling for hours everyday and saw a few sharks and all the sealife. One of the best experiences ever.
So all in all, depending what you look for it is great.
