“We did love it and we will be back!!”

Just to confirm other reviews. A wonderful spot - quiet , relaxing and very personal service without intrusion. Just returned from a two week trip with family two teenagers 18 and 16. My husband and I will definitely be back and so will the children albeit maybe under their own steam. We all discovered snorkelling which occupied our time . The dive centre next door (African Dive) provided all the equipment we needed - also advice. As did Alvin, proprietor of the Hotel who yesterday saw and photographed two turtles swimming off the reef - see his website for photos. My main comment is that we felt we were in Egypt and not at a tourist hotel anywhere in the world. The cooking was Egyption - this was a challenge at times for the many courses and large servings!!! The menu could be altered if anything was not to your taste and Allah our wonderful waiter would find us daily to check we were happy with dinner. Snack/lunch could be taken at the beach, in the restaurant or in your room. Most of the time we were alone in the pool and also at times on the beach. If you can get up early on your hols do so and spend a quiet couple of hours when it is cool just watching the horizon and the odd camel who wanders by.

A definite 10 out of 10 - but could be found too quiet for teenagers looking for more action than a swim across the reef and a glimpse of a fascinating underwater world.

“A quiet, relaxing holiday in a great hotel.”

Last month I spent a week at the Swisscare with my wife and daughter and we were all extremely pleased with our choice of hotel. The rooms were clean, well equipped and very large (the double bed must have been about 7ft wide although I didn't measure it). The water coming out of one of the showers was a little erratic but as we had a choice of 4 showers between 3 people it did not bother us and we did not report it. Every thing else about the suite was just great.

The restaurant and bar were very comfortable and the food was a delight. The menus were imaginative and every dish was beautifully presented. There was also plenty of it for those who like to consume.

Alvin, the owner of the hotel, the waiters and other staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and were always at hand if needed.

Outside there was a large, well mantained swimming pool with pleasant surroundings. The beach was clean and sandy, sun loungers comfortable and food and drinks were served at the beach and pool bars. The reef, which was a short way offshore was good for snorkelling, although I was disappointed that I never saw Gertrude, the resident turtle (must try harder next time)

We were hoping for a quiet and relaxing holiday with no noisy night clubs and that is what we got. We hope to return next year.

“A perfect holiday”

What can I say that hasn`t already has been stated by others... I have just got back after 2 weeks at The Swisscare travelling with my wife 2 young daughters 8 and 3 and my 14 year old neice, this is probably the best overall hotel I have ever stayed in, the location is superb on a wide quiet sandy beach with a sheltered sandy lagoon ideal for youngsters as its quite shallow. Across the sea are the mountains of Saudi Arabia and infront of the hotel are the Mountains of the Sinai. The hotel itsself is run by Alvin and his staff were the most attentive I have ever come across, nothing too much trouble and would go out of their way to ensure that you were getting the best service. I have to mention and thank the Chef Aymen who had to contend with my family who must have been the most fussiest eaters that he has come across, he changed the majority of the menu daily to suit their pallets, myself I had every dish he cooked for the entire 2 weeks and enjoyed every single one.You will not go hungry there !!
The bar and waitering staff Mohammed, Alaa, Freddy ( goodluck in the army, stay safe ) are the most attentive you will come across for genuine personal service, We have stayed many times at the Coral Hilton Nuweiba and never were asked by the manager how we were enjoying our holiday and if there were any problems or met him casually on the beach for a chat, you get this at the Swisscare were you are a guest not just a room number. I can`t thank Alvin and his team enough for making our stay the best we could have asked for and are already planning our next visit. If you dive there is African Divers onsite, very friendly, relaxed run by a lovely couple Daniel and Sarah who can cater for introductory dives upto Tech dives, dives start at 0945 so no rushing breakfast :-) The Nuweiba area is very quiet with little to do, which can unsettle the wife ! this was quelled by a shopping trip to Nuweiba town and another to Dahab which took about a hours drive, don`t book with the reps its cheaper if you arrange it with the hotel as we found out.
The suites are huge with aircon and ideal for large famillies or groups, they are basically 2 rooms made into a suite with connecting door, so you get 2 bathrooms !!, in the evening the staff make up the extra beds while you are at dinner and spray to get rid of the Mossies and flies. Camel rides can be arranged on the beach for 25 Egyptian Pounds about £2.50 from a local Bedouin who rides up and down the beach several times a day.
All in all this place is a gem so thanks again to Alvin and all his staff and see you all again soon.

“Swisscare and African Divers - Paradise found !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2011

This report is twofold - purely because both sides deserve equal justice, which I doubt I can do in mere words, but will certainly try.

Swisscare resort.
On arrival, thanks to transfers by minibus from Sharm, arranged by Sarah at African Divers (Thank You !) the Swisscare stood out as clean first and foremost. Our check in at reception seamless, and the simple but elegant furnishings almost taking us back in time (yes we did see the old Singer sewing machine and typewriter on display). The overall feeling of calm tranquility was almost immediate, a marked difference from the hustle and bustle of some of the Sharm hotels we've stayed in. I feel able to say that as this was our 8th visit to Egypt, so we've stayed in quiet a few so far )

Rooms
HUGE ! Quite simply put... we'd booked a suite and were slightly taken aback to find not one, but two very large rooms, each with tv, ample sleeping room, bathroom (with hairdryer), telephone, rather large balcony and enough seating for a mini conference. Well decorated and very clean, and oh so peaceful views of the mountains on one side, the pool directly in front of us, and the beach to our left. Did I mention the free tea and coffee making facilities? I know it's important to me when choosing a hotel (I AM a Brit after all !)... If I was 'forced' to find fault..the plumbing could perhaps do with a bit of modernisation - although everything worked just fine, the showers were a little unpredictable as far as temperature goes at times, but nothing close to unbearable. As I say, if I were 'forced to find fault... that's not a complaint by any means and something that's simply worth a mention rather than a full scale rant.

Food
O Good lord ! SO much food ! And the quality of chef Ayman's dishes... superb ! We had half board and were treated daily to a sumptuous breakfast, with a four course table service every evening. I wish, how I wish I'd been a little more serious about that diet before we arrived ! I cannot fault the attention to detail, the overall service and the quality of the food... The staff, particularly Mohammed and Freddy, and later Allah were some of the best waiters I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. Good job gents. The lunchtime menu, very reasonably priced indeed and definately worth a try.

Beach and Pool
Spotless, and very well maintained. If you want somewhere peaceful to chill, sunbath or read..both were as quiet as any I've ever seen.

Overall: I'd say from a personal point of view that this hotel is ideal for couples or groups and friends looking for some beautiful scenery, peace and quiet and above all else - excellent service. Not so well suited for very young families or perhaps Teens looking for an active night life due the the tranquil setting, however, it's certainly not my place to tell where you should and shouldn't go ))

African Divers.
On site at the Swisscare and ready, willing and able to show you some of the best shore diving Nuweiba has to offer. I cannot thank Daniel and Sarah enough for their hospitality, their knowledge and their guidance over the week we stayed. Waking early for a leisurely breakfast on our balcony, followed by a wander down to the dive centre around 9.30 to prepare kit at a speed other than 'breakneck' as we'd been used to previously around other centres we've dived with..was something of a revelation. On arrival at the dive sites, time enough for chatting whilst sorting kit, detailed briefings on the proposed dives and what we could expect to see, followed by quite simply, the most relaxed diving ever. If you're into photography, and my husband is... the perfect place to spend time grabbing that perfect shot before moving off to find another wonder to snap. No rush, no hassle, serene, safe and has you wanting to get right back to it the second you're out of the water. Such unspoiled beauty, and some most unsual smaller critters. Sarah..How you find all those teensy creatures underwater for us to enjoy is beyond me... but I'm glad you do ! Your knowledge of the area is astounding, so from Mat and I..thank you.

For anyone still in two minds... I hope my ramblings can convince you to visit these guys, because they definately deserve recognition for making the second leg of our Egyptian trip this year one that we will most definately never forget. So much so,I've already lined up flights for later this year.
