“Fantastic Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Firstly I must say a massive Thank You to Mr Michael Booker and his staff for the wonderful holiday we had at Tia Heights. This was my third holiday at this hotel and we stayed for 4 weeks but even after that length of time we weren't ready to come home. We stayed in January 2010 and January 2011. When we stayed in Jan 2011 the food wasn't great, I think the chefs had just lost heart in their work and it showed in their cooking. This year the food was excellent, there was an extensive choice of dishes and we never failed to find something we greatly enjoyed even though I am a bit picky. The food was always hot and well presnted. Well Done 'Mr Mike' you have given the chefs back their pride in their work and well done chefs the food was great. All the Restaurant staff looked after us very well. It was good to have an English General Manager and Mike worked very hard, he always seemed to be everywhere, he is very hands on and always asked if everything was ok and whether we needed anything. We stayed in the lagoon rooms and our room and balcony was great. Our bedding and towels were changed daily and our room cleaned to a very high standard, there was always fresh bottles of water in our room and the hotel supplied coke, sprite and fanta several times during our stay. The complimentary tea and coffee tray is great and is replenished very promptly free of charge by phoning room service. The bed was huge and there was a plentiful supply hot water at all times. The beach is great with probably the best access to the Red Sea in Makadi Bay, The gently shelving sandy bottom made going out for a snorkel effortless, the variety and quantity of fish around the hotel's reefs were spectacular, We have stayed at another hotel in Makadi Bay and had to access/exit the sea from the jetty as the coral reef started at the beach - that washard work The animation team worked very hard from early morning to late at night. The Whirling Dervish show was stunning and a must see for all tourists in Egypt. We spent most evenings in the Sunset Bar (upstairs), it's quieter than the dolphin bar (ground floor) which is too close for us to Dockers Bar where the nightly disco is held - thanks Ibrahim, Ahmed and Mohammed from the sunset bar for looking after us - your friendly banter and warm hospitality was great. It was my partner's birthday while we were there and although we hadn't said anything to the hotel they made a birthday cake for him and delivered it to our room - we were asked whether we'd like it in the restaurant but chose our room. Thank You for that Tia Heights it was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated and we enjoyed the cake. The only criticism I have of Tia Heights is that the bass from the music in the Dockers Bar was too heavy for us, but that is personal preference and may suit some people and you can get away from it by having a drink in the sunset bar. The gardens looked stunning, much better than last year. We used the Spa for eyebrow threading and a facial, steam room and back massage and the fish pedicure - weird but good. A good pampering experience. We used the indoor pool and that was warm and lovely for a relaxing swim. We didn't use the outdoor pools but they were always clean and well looked after by the pool guys. All in all a great hotel, clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation, great food and drinks, lovely and well kept gardens, beach and pool area, fantastic manager and staff. Well Done Mike you've done a great job in the last year and the improvements really show and it was nice meeting Trish, please say hello to her from us and please Thank your staff for our great holiday and we look forward to seeing you all again in January next year and maybe for our honeymoon in September.

Room Tip: Book lagoon or dune rooms if you want a quiet location

We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by very friendly reception staff we were booked in and on our way to our room in super quick time.First of all our room was lovely very spacious clean and tidy.My wife and i have been to egypt six times we have always enjoyed ourselves but at tia heights the extra special factor was without a doubt the genral manager Mr Michael Booker.
The staff especialy in the restaurant where the most polite and attentive i have ever come across obviously the result of this managers influence. The food was excellent good variety and well cooked and it was nice to see mr Booker walk through the restaurant chatting to guests and asking how they were enjoying there time at this splendid hotel.
Our room had tea & cofee and was cleaned to an excellent standard and was very comfortable.
The beach was very nice very clean lots of sunbeds amazing fish, the pool was the largest i have ever seen. The lobby has the most spectacular marble staircase i have ever seen and i think everyone there had a picture taken standing on it.
All in all we had a realy great time at tia and for me a lancastrian to praise a yorkshire man is no mean feat but not only was Mr booker a very proffesional manager he is a gentleman.

Lovey food we could not wait to see what the head chef whom we met several times had on for breakfast, lunch or dinner , it was all so fresh and interesting with different thems chinese russian italian etc not to mension the fabulous desserts we where spoilt for choice, we had a lovely waiter Mohamed who helped make our hoilday thank you.
We met the manger Mr Michael who is british, several times he is visable around the hotel and eats in the main restaurant and always stops for a chat a lovely person.
We took long walks each morning along the beach then collected our beach towels and settled down by one of the many choice of pools so close to the sea. If we wanted drinks we could have them brought to us or go to the beach bar / hut restaurant as much or as little as we wanted, we watched organized dancing on the beach great fun we even swam in the sea the weather was lovely.
Eveyone was so friendly and welcoming it was evething and more we wanted from a winter holiday so a big thank you and we will be back the same time next year, Ann & Paul Jones

“OUR 2ND STAY HERE WAS EVEN BETTER THAN THE 1ST!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We have just returned from our 2nd stay in this hotel and we are pleased to say the 2nd time was even better than the 1st!! Checking in is quick and efficient, we stayed in the Dune Rooms which we found to be spacious, comfortable and clean, water and soft drinks were also provided for the room, tea and coffee is provided for the room on request. The rooms are cleaned daily, beds and towels were also changed daily. We found our stay thoroughly relaxing and the friendly staff and management only enhanced our stay. The staff whether it be on the beach or in the restaurant cant do enough for you and show great respect for all their guests. Hussein (4830) one of the beach boys looked after us each day and made sure we were could enjoy the sun and would even adjust the windbreakers as the sun moved to reduce the breeze on particularly breezy days and Bassem and Mohammed from le caravan would ensure we were never thirsty! The food was much improved from last year and does cater for a majority of nationalities. There were themed evenings including Italian night, Russian night, Egyptian night and Indian night if you didnt want that there was plenty of other food to chose from we certainly didnt go hungry! All the chefs work extremely hard, the restaurant is always clean and cleverly decorated with carvings made from vegetables and chocolate with such intricate work done on each them, they take great pride in the work they do and we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated their efforts. All the restaurant staff were fantastic and we give a special mention to Mohamed Salah who ensured that we were looked after every breakfast and evening meal. The food is also good in le caravan for lunch should you like us want to stay on the beach for as long as possible! We also dined in the Italian restaurant where the food was fantastic and we were well looked after by Hassan (1044). The management were all very helpful and approachable and asked us every day if we were ok and if there was anything we needed. Michael Booker the General Manager is very hands on and always has time to chat to you and as long as you make him aware of any concerns you may have he will resolve as soon as he possibly can. He is a gentleman and his wife Trish whom we also met is a lovely woman, they both have a lot of time for the hotels guests and nothing is too much trouble. We will certainly be returning again and recommend this hotel to anyone. Please also read our reveiw from last year and also take a look at the photos.
Love to all at Tia Heights from Mark & Michelle "The Yam Yams"

Room Tip: We prefer the Dune Rooms as opposed to the Main building as the well maintained gardens are lovely t...

“The lancshire Three :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We came to Tia Heights for the New Year and stayed for three weeks and we werent diappointed. On arrival we were given all the imformation we needed and then shown to our rooms, when we got in our room we had twin beds my husband commented that he would of prefered a double but I said it will be ok we can push them together(as we have done before in other hotels )and thought nothing else about it,we got sorted out and went off to dinner when we came back to our room to out amazement the bed had been change for a double(which was that big you probably could of got family of four in it !!)That was just one of the things the staff did for us.The staff all over the hotel couldnt do enough for us they work so hard to make everyone welcome and were always helpful and friendly, especially Safia and Tarik( not sure of the spelling )and we miss them lots now we're home. The pool staff were the same they would put out our towels on the beds in the morning and the odd day we had when it was bit windy on the beach they brought extra wind breaks for us and place them round so we had lots of shelter. The beach bar staff would walk round and if you wanted anything you only need to ask and they get it for you.
The hotel inside and out was very clean. We stayed in the Dune rooms and they were stopless, the towels and bedding was changed every day without fail and we had some lovely things made out of towels on our bed like flowers with real petals added in the design, and a crocidile! they also filled the shower gels and creams up every day,and we got lots of water and bottles of orange, sprite and coca-cola every other day even if we still had some left in the bottles. The cleaners were always about round the pool and toilets making sure then was no areas where people could slip and the toilets were kept clean all day round.
One of the must important bit of our holiday is always the food especially for my hubby! and I would just like to say it didnt let us down from main meals to snacks(snacks being ice-creams and cake to die for)There were always fish, chicken, duck or beef to pick from roasted plain or in sauces, pastas and rices and vegatables beauiful salads, and at breakfast time the chefs did a mean omelette I had mine with melted cheese...mmmm can taste them now!
The entertainment staff work really hard day and night they are never still during the day they have something for everyone going on on the beach from exercise(watching the litte ones is so lovely) to games like voli-ball ,bowls and even darts,or you can just lie there and watch !At night they put shows on every night and again there is some for everyone including the little ones .The New Year show was very good.
And finally can we just say a very big thank you to the general manager Michael for making us welcome,it is the first holiday we have had that the GA of the hotel has make himself know to visitors and he went out of his way to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything we only needed to ask, for example we didnt bring a kettle this year and when we mention it he sorted one free on charge, with tea coffee and milk regularly for all our stay,He does a brillant job and the staff love him,and I cant forget this lovely wife Trish such a great lady,A very nice and down to earth couple.
Thanks again to Michael and all his wonderful staff for making our holiday just perfect, hopfully see you all next new year !
Forgot the gardeners give them a speical thanks
for all their hard work in making the gardens so beauiful and a pleasure to walk round,Thanks Bruce,Julie and Paul aka Mr breviile !! :)
