Firstly I must say a massive Thank You to Mr Michael Booker and his staff for the wonderful holiday we had at Tia Heights. This was my third holiday at this hotel and we stayed for 4 weeks but even after that length of time we weren't ready to come home. We stayed in January 2010 and January 2011. When we stayed in Jan 2011 the food wasn't great, I think the chefs had just lost heart in their work and it showed in their cooking. This year the food was excellent, there was an extensive choice of dishes and we never failed to find something we greatly enjoyed even though I am a bit picky. The food was always hot and well presnted. Well Done 'Mr Mike' you have given the chefs back their pride in their work and well done chefs the food was great. All the Restaurant staff looked after us very well. It was good to have an English General Manager and Mike worked very hard, he always seemed to be everywhere, he is very hands on and always asked if everything was ok and whether we needed anything. We stayed in the lagoon rooms and our room and balcony was great. Our bedding and towels were changed daily and our room cleaned to a very high standard, there was always fresh bottles of water in our room and the hotel supplied coke, sprite and fanta several times during our stay. The complimentary tea and coffee tray is great and is replenished very promptly free of charge by phoning room service. The bed was huge and there was a plentiful supply hot water at all times. The beach is great with probably the best access to the Red Sea in Makadi Bay, The gently shelving sandy bottom made going out for a snorkel effortless, the variety and quantity of fish around the hotel's reefs were spectacular, We have stayed at another hotel in Makadi Bay and had to access/exit the sea from the jetty as the coral reef started at the beach - that washard work The animation team worked very hard from early morning to late at night. The Whirling Dervish show was stunning and a must see for all tourists in Egypt. We spent most evenings in the Sunset Bar (upstairs), it's quieter than the dolphin bar (ground floor) which is too close for us to Dockers Bar where the nightly disco is held - thanks Ibrahim, Ahmed and Mohammed from the sunset bar for looking after us - your friendly banter and warm hospitality was great. It was my partner's birthday while we were there and although we hadn't said anything to the hotel they made a birthday cake for him and delivered it to our room - we were asked whether we'd like it in the restaurant but chose our room. Thank You for that Tia Heights it was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated and we enjoyed the cake. The only criticism I have of Tia Heights is that the bass from the music in the Dockers Bar was too heavy for us, but that is personal preference and may suit some people and you can get away from it by having a drink in the sunset bar. The gardens looked stunning, much better than last year. We used the Spa for eyebrow threading and a facial, steam room and back massage and the fish pedicure - weird but good. A good pampering experience. We used the indoor pool and that was warm and lovely for a relaxing swim. We didn't use the outdoor pools but they were always clean and well looked after by the pool guys. All in all a great hotel, clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation, great food and drinks, lovely and well kept gardens, beach and pool area, fantastic manager and staff. Well Done Mike you've done a great job in the last year and the improvements really show and it was nice meeting Trish, please say hello to her from us and please Thank your staff for our great holiday and we look forward to seeing you all again in January next year and maybe for our honeymoon in September.
