Being very excited for a nice week break in sunshine in a 5* hotel I was hugely disappointed. Upon arrival our bags were grabbed from us from someone who didn't even looked like he worked at the hotel. He then got hugely annoyed when we protested to leave them with him.
Whilst checking in I don't think the front desk said much more to me than can I see your passport. There was no welcome, no introduction to the hotel, no information on where we could eat. VERY unfriendly front office.
However the surroundings looked impressive and the grounds fairly vast and impressive. Once we got to the room which were well sized and clean, we then had to find where we could eat for dinner.
I think that was our first mistake, I do not understand how they can claim this hotel and food is 5* I wouldn't even serve this type of food to animals. When you could actually make out what the food was it was tepid and barely cooked. Meat was dry and sometimes the chicken totally raw in the middle. Everything else that was vaguely edible (rice, pasta and chips) these were cooked in cooking oil and swimming in grease. I have never experienced such dread of food time. With no surprise, I got severely ill whilst there (either from the food or bacteria) and ended up in the doctors clinic needing a drip.
After this incident when we tried to claim it was from the food the hotel denied that possibility it could be as no-one else was ill. Then there was no effort to see how I was or if I needed anything.
I would never return to this hotel and advise no English people to go as 90% of guests are Russians/Eastern European and have no idea about manners or queuing.
