We had a great time at Hor Palace Hotel in Hurghada. The food was really good in the hotel and in the Hor Palace Restaurant, especially the lamb and the king prawns and the cocktails!! And you should try the Egyptian Champagne!! The staff were lovely - really professional and friendly and couldn't do enough to look after us. I think the service was of very high standard in this hotel.
The hotel is set right on the seafront with it own lovely beach and crystal clear waters that were so warm. There was a very professionally organised massage centre in the hotel grounds and I had a really relaxing massage from lovely woman called Sherwood - I would highly recommend their massages - Thank you Sherwood!! There was also an aqua centre on the beach selling diving, and snorelling trips out to sea or you can try windsurfing. The weather while we were there was fantastic - you couldn't fault it. The whole location is beautiful, with lakes and nice walkways, and it was nice and quiet, even though the hotel was fully booked - there was no loud animation by the pool, making a racket as you get in some places, so we could really chill out. The hotel complex was right in the heart of the promenade and was surrounded by lots of great bars, cafes and bazaars, and you can sit in the hotel restaurant facing the promenade and just watch the world go by. We will definitenly return to this hotel the next time we're in Hurghada, and can't wait to return to the disco which was loads of fun :0)

We stayed in this moderate hotel last august and did not have too high expectations in advance. Please keep that in mind too!

When you go to hurghada and make a decision to stay in a not too expensive 3 star hotel you will not get all the luxury. For instance:

-Broken tiles in the pool and the pavement.
-Food that is not too special, to say the least.
-Strange procedures with passports (which they could not find back)
-Staff with limited english speaking capabilities

On the other hand, we enjoyed our stay. Just relax and make the best out of it.

If you are more demanding go for a 4 or 5 stars hotel, simple as that.

Just returned from our 7 day stay. Food awful, chipped crockery, dirty table linen, no variation in food - do not cater for the English!!! Accommodation O.K. but very dark and the cleaner only sweeps/mops in the centre of the floor! Only 1 beach bar available! All inclusive does not include daytime/evening snacks and drinks finish at 10pm! Broken tiles around pool area! The 2 'lagoons' smelt like a sewer! The whole place needs knocking down and re-building again!!!!! The staff were very friendly considering their working environment . The Hor Palace makes Fawlty Towers a 7 star!!!!! Good job the english have a sense of humour for this place!!!! Ha!

We currently stayed at this hotel from hell we advise all british tourists do not waste your money booking here it is catered for russian clientel not british.
The all inclusive is advertised as being 9am to 12pm but it is not when you get there it is only 10am till 10pm. There is nowhere to get a drink in the cool unless you want to pay extra some of the food is unedible maybe great for russians but not for british taste buds. The hotel is very tired and even the locals laugh if you say you staying there. No entertainment during day only aerobics and who wants to do that on ya hols in 50 degrees celcius. Evening entertainment starts at 10.30pm( in gardens next to hotel) free to get in but you pay for your drinks.
