“Nice service, did you know they can call your gate on departure to embarrass you?”

Not really a 5 star hotel. Service a good and staff, for the most part were courteous. Rooms were clean and well made up. Beware the shower water is heavily chlorinated, but I guss that's the same for that area in general.

Food was not great. Mostly cold although other alternatives to eat are available around the resort with a reduction of 5 euros per person, or 20 euros all in, except drinks if your not all inclusive.

Beach is not so close, you have to navigate through a maze of buildings, although It's not off putting.

Paid cash mostly for bars and outside food. Had issues at the end with anomalies in the end room bill. Spent 15 minutes whilst the front desk attempted to locate the strage figure.

There was a bus of Swiss, German and French waiting so you can imagine to looks when boarding the bus late. It was inefficient nit to produce the proof on demand, and when they did, it was for something that was overcharged.

Having no time, we left. At the airport, aside from basically having to pay someone to use the bathroom, our name was called. The hotel called the gate to say we had taken the signature invoice for the room charge. The gate security was rude and we felt the eyes on us as we went through our hand luggage. The guy at the front desk would have to pay if we could not find it.

Funny that the cash was taken from the card anyways. Seemed like a ruse and the embarrassment was so much that we have decided never to return to Egypt again.

Ps. Beware arrival to hurghada airport. Corruption squared. Paid x 3 for the visa or couldn't enter. On Christmas day too.

No equality for women at the hotel, the manager is female, 2 on the animation team, then XY all the way!

“Best time in Egypt!”

Me and my husband had the best 2 weeks at Egypt! For the last 6 years since we have been married we have been 3 times in Egypt(Sharm el Sheikh and Hurgada), but I can honestly say that this was the best hotel(room and service),service and time we had all together! Not only the best quality food and facilities, but would like to share with you my amazement with the hospitality of the people we met there. We felt welcomed and honored to be guests there. The General Manager welcomes you from the first day and makes sure every following day you are having a good time. Actually all the staff was very possitive!
We are happy to say that we also made new friends around all the activities you can organise through the hotel!
It was fun!!and definatelly the best time we have ever had in Egypt!

“Wonderful!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

Stayed at the Jaz Makadi star & spa for one week following a Nile Cruise, we did our research before going and found out this hotel is German owned and has a german manager in post!
On arrival we where greeted by reception staff who gave us cold towels to freshen up very nice after a four hour journey fron Luxor and also a glass of local fresh juice whilst we filled out registration details, we where then taken to our room fantastic size, massive bathroom & Queen size bed, mini bar also in the room with complimentry soft drinks and water.

The food was wonderful although we did begin to get a little tired of it towards the end of the week but maybe we are not used to eating 3 cooked meals a day, the pool bar also served burgers, sandwiches, wraps, chips etc so this varied it.
As with all hotels in Egypt they advise against using tap water even for brushing teeth but as bottled water was provided we did not find this a prroblem. All the local drinks we tried where very good indeed including the wine served with Dinner.
The beach was about a 10 minute walk away through wonderful hotel gardens and a beach bar at the end to quench your thirst after the walk.
There was never a rush in a morning for sunbeds plently for everybody with lots of parasols for shade which where in very good condition.

The Hotel was spotless, staff very friendly and helpful and never seemed to stop working all day.
Yes this hotel had a lot of German guests but they were all very friendly it was some of the few english guests that we found to be rather ignorant if anything.
Would we go back to this hotel YES most definately but one thing I must say is that older children may find it a bit boring as there did not appear much in the area for them to do as we did not take any I advise you to do some research before you go.

“Very nice holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

This is a nice resort with friedly staff. It is about a 5-6 minute walk from the beach which in the hot sun may seem a bit long at times. The beach itself is nice and sandy. Our 3-year old could walk on the beach and enjoy the sea without any problems. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We had two large connecting rooms, so the kids had their own separate room.
The food is nice and varied but my wife and son did get some symptoms of food poisoning. Fortunately, it didn't ruin our holiday but it could have. The guests are mostly german and russian, but we didn't have any problems communicating with the staff and getting what we needed.

Room Tip: Be careful about what you eat.
