“All-inclusive heaven.”

I just returned from a 4day stay at the hotel after enjoying a nile cruise. The hotel compound is vast, nicely maintained, has very friendly personnel and nicely sized rooms. I would recommend it for families. Two things I didn't enjoy: the food- I am vegetarian and the veg options were bland and overcooked and very much just side dishes, and there was nothing Egyptian about the food. Fries,Pizza, pasta, asian food-even a German restaurant!! Shame, really. And, the other thing I didn't like-most guests were predominately older food-loving Germans. Being German myself I was shocked at the amount non-stop all inclusive eating fellow Germans. We stayed for 4 days and that was well enough time spent abroad being addressed exclusively in German. If you like the all inclusive kinda style, the hotel is probably perfect. If you prefer more intimate, local culture experience kind of vacations-stay away!!

“VERY FEW ENGLISH”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This was a predominantly German hotel which suited us down to the ground as we don't like to hear English on holiday. Heated pools.
Exceptionlly clean, attentive service, well positioned. All the restaurants are buffets which is a shame. Would be nice to be served sometime.
The Coffee bar can give Starbucks a run for its money. Pity about being able to smoke in there!
Plenty of lounge areas to relax in the evening.
Many many bars to choose from and beer and wine served by the bottle in ice buckets which was a welcome surprise.
Downsides- the bathroom facilities and hair dryer. The beach/pool boys whistling and shouting.

“christmas 2011”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

we were a party of 10 6 adults and 4 children who travelled here xmas 2011 and when arrived at hotel was not given room originally ordered and stipulated on our booking form which was 2 interconnecing double rooms and 2 no double rooms. the hotel decided to give us 3 family rooms and allocate 2 of our children to my parents room and to my sister and her boyfriends room .
despite clearly stipulating 2 interconnecting rooms were required.thus 2 adults and 4 children were dumped in family room suitable for 2 adults and 2 children with children top and tailing. .
after 4 days of complaining did the hotel move us to a proper family room suitable for 6 people.so we then had to repack and move our luggage.
the hotel was huge . the majority were german however there were ample sunbeds so no need to wake at the crack of dawn to reserve a bed . the hotel is vast and never felt crowded.
we only realised how many people were there when we entered the marquee set up next to hotel for xmas gala night and we were informed there were over 2200 guest at hotel. the gala meal was superb ( it made up for the mix up with the rooms) with an elaborate display of food , magic show and dancing followed by disco on stage.. most of the germans left the marquee at 10.30 when the disco started , no doubt to grab their sunbeds in the morning.
the animation of vako and rocco made an effort with the kids and kept them entertained from 10 til 12 . it would have been better if they could have had them a few hours longer in the afternoon. i think the animation team were short staffed and this was the reason for not having them longer.
there was a lot of indoor smoking but there were non smoking areas so you can chose these if you preferred. the holiday would have been better with a few more british families. nevertheless we had a good time and would go back.
i would make sure the booking company liase direct with the hotel to avoid any mix ups and contact also the hotel direct to ensure you get what rooms you requested . we would recommend paying a little more to get family room rather than small double room.

Room Tip: get room in block 2000 as inbetween beach and main hotel

“These people ripped me off!!!!”

Back in 1998, I bought a timeshare into this property, the owners used the money to build the resort, then tried every possible trick in the book to deny us -timeshare owners- to use our time!! I urge everyone to boycott these thieves!

“Christmas break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Overall a decent hotel but would not rush back there.

Positive
- Child friendly hotel with several heated pools great for kids
- Easy to get to from the UK and not too far to transfer from airport
- Asian restaurant was very good

Negative
- Most common areas are smoking areas and it seems that all the Germans are still smoking or they all go to Dana Beach
- Food was generally average.
- Service was hit and miss. Some of the staff was very friendly, others (often at the bars) were not so friendly

Overall
Overall, we spent a good time in this hotel but don't expect anything spectacular

Room Tip: Top floor are quieter. sea view looked very nice
