Just came home from the Ali BaBa, lovely place and swimming pool is amazing however freeeezzing!!!! spent a week there with my partner brilliant apart from a few pointers, if booking all inclusive some things are not ie spirts unless got from the main reception bar, any fruit or cocktails or mocktails, if wanting a drink by the pool or food you have to get it yourself from the pool bar as the staff try to charge. food was awful however was not expensive to eat out, gorgeous italien on sinbad shopping street and shop keepers not to pushy apart from a couple who decided to follow us half way down the street.
Not many english at all only met one english family and they were not even staying in our hotel so on that note if you like to feel kind of at home with other english people around this is not the place to go as the other people can make you feel sort of shut out and the staff tend to think us english are stupid and cannot work out they are trying to charge us more money!

top trips with the hotel dolphin aqua centre squba diving trip is well worth the £20! a full day on a boat travelling to differnt coral spots,
overall loved the holiday apart from the sunburn :( will be returning next year with a group of friends

Went with a friend to relax away from the UK. Hotel was great clean and staff were helpfull. Food was fantastic and the animation team who did all the activies during the day and night were fab!! Is not a Hotel full of British people a lot of Russians and Germans but they were all really friendly. Beach is just a few mins away from the Hotel and the centre of Hurghada is a 10min taxi. Great Hotel for a short break to relax away from the uk.

my boyfriend and i booked this hotel through a polish travel agency and stayed there for one week. it turned out to be alright for the price but we wouldnt book it again considering it was rather mediocre.

the russians didnt bother us at all. in fact the other tourist were all very friendly to us.

we were quiet disappointed with the food though. it was kind of tasteless and seemed almost the same most of the time. breakfast was alright though.
since i heard other tourists complain about the food in neighbouring hotels, it seems that the ali baba palace isnt the only one with bad food.
the staff in the hotel was mostly nice, we called room service a few times with minor problems concering our room (towels etc) and someone came to help us after only a few min.
obviously the service gets better with a small tip here and there. up to 5 egyptian pounds is enough though.
for those who would like to eat good egyptian fish, the "el mina " restaurant is really good. its close to hurghada center.
for a cab to the city center we paid around 25 egyptian pounds one way.
The desert tour to the bedouins and on the quads was fun. i would do that again any time.
the aquascope tour is not bad, but its still nothing compared to snorkeling which i highly recommend.
Nightlife: we went to ministry of sound - awesome location and good music
and nearby you have hedkandi. we havent been there but its supposed to be similar.
the hard rock cafe is nice, with good food and cocktails and awesome staff.
the hotel pool is nice.its quiete big and there is enough room for everyone to sunbathe.
i can say the same about the beach. also the hotel gardens are very pretty.

so all in all we had a very nice trip though ,the weather was nice and the actvities were fun.

with the ammount of eastern europeans at the Ali Baba sporting 70s style hair cuts if you were deaf and couldnt hear them you could see them ,hotel was fine but dont sit under the glass dome roof as it looks like peices are falling off,,rooms clean but basic, English people few and far between,,Staff at Bar great as long as you tell them you are English best waiter Abhdu loves the manners we have,,round the pool abhdula and the other members cant do enough for you and are pleased to receive 10 pounds egyptian,,£1,, staff in restraunt will bother the life out of you to change English pounds for them and push fruit cocktails then try to demand 10 extra from you,,the pool area is excelent with no fighting for beds,,trips offerd by Reps can be bought for half price in town, Airport very poor with everybody demanding money so take some pound coins with you for luggage to be loaded on coach,toilet,trolly,,driver everybody wants some, but will go back and just hope there will be some more english,,We met a nice couple from Brighton but lost there email address,,would like to hear from them if they read this
