“All would be good, if not a food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2010

Lovely hotel. Comfortable buildings, spacious rooms, cleanliness. Nearby there is street with shops.
Two drawbacks, one of which can be even a plus for small children: hotel’s beach, protected from waves by a pier with walking yachts and fenced with anchor buoys, has a flat, pure sandy bottom. No corals, almost no fishes.
The second drawback is much worse. The food. Unintelligible medley in fat tomato sauce. There are few vegetables and almost no fruit. The bakery is poor and tasteless. Coffee – slops! Real coffee - 3$!!!
Queues!!!
To several trays with hot dishes (6-7 for all hotel!), to the sole slow barman for a glass of Coca, to a cooler for a glass of water. In rooms there is a kettle, but there is no water, only in a minibar (it is more than 2$ for a small bottle). On coolers there is an inscription: «to gather water in plastic bottles is forbidden». And this is called "all inclusive"!?

“It says Holiday Inn on the tin . . . but thats about it!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2010

This is the second review I've written on this hotel. The first seems to have disappeared. It was probably reported to the site admins as it hit on a number of the hotels sore points quite hard.

I revisited this hotel for a one night stop over between Hurghada and Hamata. Thankfully it was only one night.

First time I went here, I had issues with towel cards that went missing. The reception wanted a fine of $40 for loss of the towel cards. They were very rude telling me I should take more care of them etc. At this point I demanded to see the manager. He was not available, in fact he was not available during the entire stay. In the end, I waited in the reception defiantly. The receptionist on duty, who had been very rude to me, finally gave in, and produced the cards from behind the desk. It would therefore appear that the fine was not for loss, more a charge for a return. As I left reception, he muttered something about taking more care. I had to bite my lip and not react. It makes Fawlty Towers look like the Hilton. I actually wrote to the Holiday Inn about this incident, but I received no response.

Upon my most recent visit, I booked using my Priority Club number, as I use this a lot for work. It should get you a quick check in and a room upgrade etc. Ideally, I would not stay here again, but it offers a convenient stop over point, an hour outside of Hurghada.

Upon arriving at the hotel it, appeared they had no knowledge of the booking. They demanded I show them the reservation document, which I only had electronically on my Iphone email. It appeared this was not sufficient. I had to have it on paper. They offered me internet access to download it and print it out (but I would have to pay for this service). There appeared to be confusion as to what the room rate was. I got the distinct impression there was some sort of scam going on here. Finally when I kicked up a fuss, they miraculously produced the reservation document from the system. This had my name, priority number, room rate etc. Why was their such hassle when they already had the details.

The next hurdle was getting them to add the shuttle transfer cost from the airport to the room bill. It appeared cash was preferable . . . I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

Even in the short period between stays here, it is noticeable how the hotels interior has suffered. Chipped doors, tired furniture etc.

To conclude, if you want to go to Safaga for diving or a stopover, this is a convenient basic hotel. But do not expect Holiday Inn standards.

“quite nice hotel, good restaurant.”

Mostly russians, swiss and german people in the hotel. I had no troubles with anyone. The lies at the beach are occupied verx quick. You have to place a towel at about six in the morning on a lie if you want to lie there. If you forgot you can lie at the pool. Every evening there is a animation show, that ends at 22:30. At the beach you find a padi diving center. There is not really much nigthlife.

“I wasn't satisfied the few days spent there”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2009

I've been overthere , firstly I was planning to stay for 7 days, but I"ve minimized it to 2 days due to lot of defects , poor un-happy staff trying to do their best to gain the maximum from guest in a bad way , some of food items were damaged (specially salads) , turning off lights during dinner time in order to save money , so sorry to find any of Holiday inn hotels in this poor shape
