June2010 we stayed here and, despite the earlier reviews had absolutely no problems at all. The local staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful.

The 3 bed apartment was clean and spacious and had cable tv and aircon, full kitchen including fridge and washing machine.

The complex itself is on Bowling Road, just by the German School, in a U-shape, the curved pool is in the space between the two sides so catches the sun until late afternoon. There is a pharmacy onsite, and it is a 5 minute walk from a smallish 24hr supermarket, and 10minute walk from a huge 24hr supermarket. The apartments are about 10mins in a taxi from the airport, and 10minute walk from "the main strip".

Had no problems at all while we were there, and the local staff were only to happy to help bring up groceries, hail and negotiate cabs, and advise on how to get to places and what to do and what not to do.

Happy to recommend this apartment complex for a great Hurghada holiday!

Great Apartments, excellent location. very good value. Not next to a beach but not too far to get to one if needed, staff on site will help you with directions.

Desert Pearl is excellently located next to the boulevard and plenty of good bars and restaraunts located nearby. Little Buddha was fantastic! There is also an aqua park across the street and the kids loved it.

Apartment was very clean and our balcony looked right onto the pool. We had heard of the problems in the past however we experienced none and the staff we very friendly and helpful.

All in all this represented excellent value for money as it was very clean, tidy and in a fantastic location.

I'd like to echo what several other reviewers have written about the issues with ownership of the appartments, meaning that fully paid up owners are not allowed to rent their own appartments! This means that you can book from the owner but they are more than likely to stop you entering, not a nice experience straight off the plane with kids in tow! They're making the rules up as they go along, while we were there, we were asked for exortionate amounts for water and electricity (without any bill or representative from an elec company to prove what customers owed!), failure to pay means you'll get your elec cut off. In addition to that there were constant power cuts, and water shortages, so you spend your whole holiday wondering if you can get washed or sweating a lot! They clearly don't care about having a bad reputation as from what i've heard the situation hasn't got any better. You're better in a hotel, much cheaper, you'll have a beach and you might have a chance of relaxing once in a while!
