We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Arena and have had a wonderful time.The staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.Rooms were really clean. We had a pool view room on the ground floor with an interconnecting room for our son which was ideal. El Gouna is a town that has been built especially for tourists and has many bars and restaurants all of which are within a few minutes walk from the hotel and very reasonable.With this in mind I would advise to go bed and breakfast as we did, as the food at the hotel is very geared to German guests and not very varied (so I am told) I must mention Dunes bar, the staff were so friendly and really made us feel welcome, they always found time to play pool with our son and there was a show nearly every night (belly dancers, Whirling Dervish etc)
I would really recommend the trip to Dolphin house bookable through Mohammed who walks round the pool.We had never snorkled before but swam with dolphins and a whole host of sealife in the coral reefs.Also the quad safari is really good. We did the afternoon trip which meant we saw the sunset in the desert and came back in the dark!
Michaels shop nest to the pool is really reasonable and yes you can barter with him but he won't hassle you and is good fun.
We would love to return as we had a great time I am just sorry that the main tour opperators are not using El Gouna next year!

stayed at Arena during December . Its about 22 degrees during the day, but down to 12 in evening. This is obviously not Arenas fault but the bar is wide open to the outside at night . Every one huddled around in coats trying to look like they are enjoying themself.
The place is run down and grubby but not dirty!!
Lots of mozzys about and with bad fitting windows, drain vents and not so good AC
it was a real problem
The staff are mostly very friendly and helpful.
Will I come back .? In summer (march to October)maybe but price would have top be very keen.
There are lots of better places at similar prices

Third time in El Gouna, Third time at the Arena Inn - everything that was good on the previous visits, were equally good this time. Friendly staff, rooms well maintained and as always the waether was great - although the staff hadnt much control over that part!
Unfortuantely it would seem that UK tour operators such as Thomas Cook, First Choice/Thomson are moving out and will not offer it next year - just means that i will have to look at alternative ways and means. Thanks once again for a great holiday - Arena Inn

Hotel is perfect for relax and enjoy holiday in Elgona, hurgada , Egypt.
Price is god, friendely stuff , clean room , houskeeper do there job well.

Hotel stuf is friendly and helpful, great impration once you arrive and they do there jobe as it have to be done, the pool stuf is friendly and they make there best to make the gust enjoy there holiday , the activety on the pool side is good enough to fill the day and they offer some snorkel trips too. organized scheduel for the pool activty and the best in wednesday is the oriantel show is great
