My wife and I spent a week in this hotel (Jan 2012). It earns all of its five stars. To describe the hotel is a difficult task as it is not a typical hotel, it is a resort spread out over a large island with the tallest building being three story all set in a very well looked after desert garden. I paid the extra and stayed in a single level room. Large quiet and only yards from the very clean beach.
Food: We stayed B&B and the buffet style breakfast was plentyful and of an extremely good quality. The chef cooking eggs is a sight to behold, his skill is a joy.
To escape the hotel use the Took Tooks, 10le for a ride anywhere in El Gouna for two. There is a shuttle bus but that is very erractic and the bus that you want has always just left. Having said that its only 20le for a weeks ticket.
Eating out in Downtown or the Marina: You can find food from bar burgers to fine dining. Our first meal for two cost £7 with drinks, our last £50 both good in thier own ways.
As I diver I was happy to use this hotels dive shop TGI Diving, fair price and good trips. My only critisim of the 'El Gouna' experience is that my wife and I are very active, after a week of sitting about we had had enough.
If you like a beach life youll love it.
