“A Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

My wife and I spent a week in this hotel (Jan 2012). It earns all of its five stars. To describe the hotel is a difficult task as it is not a typical hotel, it is a resort spread out over a large island with the tallest building being three story all set in a very well looked after desert garden. I paid the extra and stayed in a single level room. Large quiet and only yards from the very clean beach.

Food: We stayed B&B and the buffet style breakfast was plentyful and of an extremely good quality. The chef cooking eggs is a sight to behold, his skill is a joy.

To escape the hotel use the Took Tooks, 10le for a ride anywhere in El Gouna for two. There is a shuttle bus but that is very erractic and the bus that you want has always just left. Having said that its only 20le for a weeks ticket.

Eating out in Downtown or the Marina: You can find food from bar burgers to fine dining. Our first meal for two cost £7 with drinks, our last £50 both good in thier own ways.

As I diver I was happy to use this hotels dive shop TGI Diving, fair price and good trips. My only critisim of the 'El Gouna' experience is that my wife and I are very active, after a week of sitting about we had had enough.

If you like a beach life youll love it.

Room Tip: All rooms are of a very good standard

Dear Dune_UK,

Thank you very much for your comments. The resort consists of 9 islands connected with wooden bridges and huge landscape of palms, trees and other plants. all of this is looking over the red sea. Each island has its own building / cluster. The resort is spread over 20000 square meter.

I am happy you enjoyed your stay with us and already looking forward to welcoming you again.

Many thanks and regards

My husband & I stayed 3 nights at this marvelous hotel during our honeymoon vacation.. It was really so nice and we enjoyed the suite we got very much i still can remember the suite no. 2222 which was our lucky no. for happiness and romance.
Since this was our first visit to El Gouna but still i can say that Sheraton was awesome and the design of the hotel is really nice and different. Staff there was very nice and they were all helpfull specially Emad in the concierge desk who was the first and the last smile we met in the hotel.

Dear Darkeyes0608,

I am very happy that you enjoyed your honeymoon and it became a memorable experience in our resort. Our 2222 suite is actually one of our best suites directly located at a fantastic beach front view.

We will be waiting for you again maybe to celebrate your 1st anniversary in the same suite.

Best regards
Islam

“Great hotel, great value, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This was my second visit to the Sheraton Miramar Resort (the first two years earlier).

It's a spectacular hotel, laid out over a series of islands. The architecture is very colourful and distinctive, with no two buildings being exactly the same. We decided to splash out and stay in an "executive suite"; it was spread over two floors with its own internal spiral staircase, and with its own balcony. Maybe it was because we went in January, or maybe it's because tourism has been severely affected by political unrest, but we managed to get the suite for a very competitive rate.

The swimming pools were pleasantly heated and there are lots of beaches, so there is plenty of choice if you just want to sit in the sun.

The main restaurant offers a nightly buffet, which represents good value although the setting is a bit cavernous. Much better are the hotel's two other (smaller) restaurants, one oriental and one Italian. Here we enjoyed first-rate food, again at very reasonable prices.

One of the great strengths of this hotel is its location; it is a ten-minute walk from the marina. Here you'll find lots of other places to eat and a good selection of shops.

Negatives? On both my visits I found the wi-fi to be a bit unreliable. Plus a 5* hotel should (these days) offer this facility free-of-charge. Also there are people wandering around the hotel trying to sell you excursions on a "semi-submarine" to see fish, coral reefs, etc. This turned out to be a complete waste of time and money.

But I highly recommend this hotel, and I look forward to further visits in the future.

Room Tip: Treat yourself to a suite -- they're bigger than most people's houses!

“Simply Superb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

My wife and I took the opportunity of a break from our 2 week stay in Makadi Bay and after checking Trip Advisor booked into the Sheraton El Gouna for 1 night only and wished we were able to stay longer.

Upon checking in we were upgraded to a bueatiful room overlooking the sea and after exploring the hotel grounds jumped on the water shuttle taxi to downtown and then the shuttle bus to the new marina and was well impressed with the resort overall.

The hotel offered clean attractive rooms modernised with flat screen TV's and even had plug in mozzie repellent. The lagoons were superb (but freezing water) as well as being proper little sun traps and the food in the hotel was well presented and and of very good quality.

The only negative point for me was no complimentary water in the room when the tap water isn't recommended. 2 x 1.5L bottles were provided at a charge but 2 x 500ml bottles (complimentary) would be far better for clients.

Overall - A really satisfactory stay and would certainly go back.

Grab your ticket from Buisness center for the shuttle bus to go around el Gouna(0.8$ day ticket). Don't forget to passby downtown and the Marina in el Gouna. If u want clubs and good pubs you should take the go bus to Hurghada (20 km far) best night life on the red sea is in Hurghada!! I want to go back again and again:)) Forgot about the food: one of the best buffets I ate at for long!
