“Nice to visit again”

Went to this hotel 3 years ago, would have returned earlier but it was very expensive for a couple of years.
In a nutshell its a great hotel in a nice location. If you want a super lively holiday this is not for you, evening entertainment is low key & not every night which was fine for us.
Staff at hotel were all fantastic and the bar staff Ali, Mena, Ahmed & Hani kept us entertained and looked after us throughout our 2 week stay (last 2 weeks Jan 2012).
Food was Fine and as far as we know there was no upset tums.
We have been to Egypt many times and this is our favourite hotel. If you want a relaxing holiday with a good beach and snorkelling you will be hard pressed to find better.

“great winter break, staff are the best”

returned last evening from the hotel iberotel dahabaya, been there for two weeks great hotel, rooms excellent and large, hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are exceptionally polite and professional, particularly Hani, Ahmed and Mena who undertake the bars at poolside, beach side and then the main bar in the evening, they are a credit to the hotel.

Food is very good taking into the differing hot and cold dishes they prepare to cater for all international tastes. Hotel was around 50-60% full, which was ideal. weather been excellent, just one over cast day but still nice and warm, in fact thermometer in the sun at pool side was clocking 95 degree plus yesterday (5th feb). Went for a meal at the thai restaurant (called Mai Thai) about 600 yards along the beach turning left from the hotel beach, it was really good, and we had a great night with couples like ourselves who just fancied a change for the evening. The town/village of Dahab (locals call it Masbat??) is worth a visit, we walked one afternoon, it takes around an hour, again left along the beach, keep going till you come to the fence at the lagoon, and the pathway way takes you straight into Masbat.
The beach is great, plenty of sunbeds, sea nice and warm..... and did a bit of snorkeling with fellow "brit" george, go just past the bouys and the fish are there. One word of warning, the guy who has the "rights" to sell trips at the hotel (to the right on the beach) is a bit of a conman, better trips and more reasonable with the "baby fish" guy who is some 30 meters to the left. If you fancy a massage the lady who politely comes along the beach, is open to negotiation, 60 euro is very steep, but managed to get two 1 hour massages for £50.

Anyway, we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and are happy to answer any fellow "TA,ers" questions. Only down side was that we were sunbathing on sunday morning, and digging a path to our front door through the snow on our return home some 13 hours later...ahhhhhhhhhhh. Cheers all.

Room Tip: first floor to the left looking from restaurant, brilliant afternoon sun.

“Exactly what we needed!”

We wanted a calm, peaceful holiday and this is exactly what we got. A really lovely hotel, small, very clean and staffed by lovely friendly people. As others have said, the food got a bit monotonous towards the end of our 2 weeks - especially the desserts, as there's only so much cake you can eat (yes, really). We loved our spacious 1st floor room by the pool and mention must be made of the fantastic towel art. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes, unless you wanted frantic and lively. Would I go back? Definately.
I must mention that this holiday was made perfect for me by the appearance of several beautiful 3 month old motherless kittens. Plus 1 or 2 other slightly older ones including a beautiful rare female ginger tabby who was pregnant! They were friendly and loving an made my stay perfect and my leaving heart wrenching!
Although nothing to do with the hotel, I must tell you about a real pig of a Polish man. He'd been there less then 24 hours and was sitting at the beach bar with his family/ The little pregnant cat walked behind his chair. He picked up his big heavy sandal and thwacked her around her head! Poor little scrap shook her head several times and walked away. I sat horrified, then shouted at him using a choice selection of names. I think her got the message!

We have been there in November for the last nine years and have found it only improves from year to year. We initially went there for the windsurfing but now just enjoy the lovely beach with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas and snorkelling in the Red Sea is amazing.
The staff are great with a good sense of humour and nothing is too much trouble.

Room Tip: Ensure you specify double or twin. With the double you get two reading lights which are vital to rea...

“A wonderful holiday”

We have just spent a wonderful week at this hotel. If you are thinking of going then don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff can't do enough to help and are very friendly. The beachside location is just perfect and there are more than enough sun loungers. We enjoyed the food and there was plenty of choice on the buffet. We went to Petra one day and the reception organised a packed breakfast but also arranged for food in our room on our return which was very welcome. It was my birthday while we were there and I found a birthday cake and card from the management in our room in the evening which was a lovely surprise. We will definately be returning!
