The Coralia Club could not be termed anything other than superb value for money.
At the moment it's sitting at about 16th out of 47 hotels in Dahab and I'm sure anyone familiar with the town will be struggling to puzzle out how there can be 15 better hotels in Dahab than the Coralia. Perhaps 3, or 4 or even 6...............but not 15.
As has been mentioned in recent posts the food is very good, and there is always something you can find to your taste. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and when the main restaurant was either closed on the odd lunchtime, or handling one of the coach parties that visit, we could use either the Lagoon or Italian restaurants at no extra cost.
One warning about both though...............they don't understand the concept of 'small' portions.
As the last reviewer mentioned, the pool was being overhauled but it really wasn't missed as the sea is only a few yards away.
Neilson's lack of choice ( and flexibility) when it comes to departure airport resulted in us booking through 'Sunshine.co.uk'. and buying into Neilson's windsurfing package was also going to be very expensive, so we used the Harry Nass centre 1 which is without any doubt the best positioned on the whole bay. Equipment offered to two experienced windsurfers was first class & the tuition given to our daughter went way beyond our expectations and was superb value.
Stand up paddle boarding was also great fun on the light wind days
One point that is worth mentioning to any families thinking about Dahab as a holiday option and that's the beach. The beach in front of the Coralia is lovely soft sand up to the Neilson centre. Beyond that, it isn't.
It is sand of a sort but it's gritty and sharp and uncomfortable unless you have something on your feet.
Snorkelling is excellent, with even some small coral stands in the swimming area directly infront of the hotel. The horse riding and quad trips on offer are good and not expensive.
The quad trip to Wadi Gnai was stunning.
It is worth walking or taking a taxi into Mashraba/Masbat. You'll get pestered by shopkeepers , who are having a bit of a hard time of it at the moment but it's well natured and good fun. If you don't want to be bothered , when they asked where you're from , say Finland, or perhaps Hungary, and shrug.
The only think I could think of which the hotel should address is the cost of using wi-fi in the rooms. You can connect for free in the Sultan Bar, and though it disconnects after 30 minutes, you can re-connect again for another ½ hour session straight away. The only trouble is the speed; the good old days of dial up connection spring to mind.
Fine for checking emails but nothing much else.
If you do choose to buy credit for wi-fi in your room, it's 146 LE for 24 hours ( and that's 24 hours as in one calendar day , not 24 hours total access time). At the time of writing, 146 Egyptian pounds is about £15.
In the grand scheme though, given that we go away to get away , it is a very minor matter .
Overall - I'd go back tomorrow.
Friendly staff, good food, quiet area, fantastic views, great windsurfing/diving/kitesurfing.
