“Rude staff, terrible food, smelly bathroom and insect evrywhere...don't stay here!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

My husband and i wanted to experience Alexandria the second time it was thi April 2011 that we stayed...its still a bit winter at that time. And once we arrive Alexandria our worst nightmares starts ill state it to you one by one:
1.The location was so hard to find we lost like 3 times asking people where the locals where the location is and it seems that the more we ask the more we're being lost so tip no.1 Dont ask the locals to find your way to the place.
2.Once we entered at the hotel it's like ghost town no one was there and at that time the hotel was under renovation so only the chalets are available so we stayed there. And it was a really terrible smelly bathroom and ants everywhere not samll ants big ones.
3.Once we're there at the night time someone called our room and say bad word to my husband so he went to the reception and complain. They bring the manager and they said they will investigate about it but then the next day they they just keep apologizing to my husband but no result who did it.
4.The breakfast was terrible specially the restaurant its like things are so messed up. you can see stains in the mirror.
5.No covers for the chairs outside and their reason it was'nt summer yet so its covered and its dusty all over the place.
SO ONE THING I'LL TELL YOU DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS HOTEL!!!!!!

Room Tip: If you want a great vacation this is not the right place for you.

“one of the best place in north coast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

we had stayed for 3 days in iberotel borg el arab, the hotel location is great,it is in the beginning of the north coast road, the staff is so friendly.my advice is to take a chalet on the first or second line on the beach which is much better than the rooms in the main building of the hotel as both have the same price....it is spacious, very clean, well furnished and near from the pool and the beach.....bathrooms are very clean.....food is delicious and variable specially the salad buffet is the best ever i had seen.. the beach is fabulous but not for swimming as it is not safe as in the whole beach in north coast.....in the evening, there is an oriental show which is so cute,,,,, the weather was fantastic there in July and august which is the best time to stay in this hotel otherwise it ll be cold,,,,,,,,and sure if i ll spend my holiday in the north coast i ll return to this hotel

It is a nice hotel regarding the pool the beach is nice but the sea is very high and dangerous food is nice but I found a surprise upon check in as I found a dead cockroach I called someone to clean it but no response occured till next day when regular housekeaping was done and the surprise that the cockroach was still there so my wife removed it by herself. At that night there were insects stinging e and my baby which were not mosquitoes and in the morning I dicoverd they are small bugs like ants but red in colour , upon check out I cmoplained about this and the manager apologized to me but he didn't make me any discount but promised me a discount on next stay!!!!!

“excellent location average service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

We had 6 rooms changed 3 after one day to Sea Front which is the only acceptable room for the rate charged. Average breakfast buffet and very poor dinner buffet. Kids club was closed. Pools are nice and clean. Beach is dirty and not cleaned by staff who are struggling to keep this hotel open. Needs better management and marketing to keep this hotel afloat.

“Pleasantly surprised”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

After reading all the negative reviews we were a bit worried about staying there but since our favourite North Coast destination (El Alamein hotel) hiked its prices drastically for the summer season we decided to give this hotel a try.

The hotel has obviously undergone recent renovations and thankfully they are almost done. The remaining renovations are in an area that does not disrupt the resort or the guests. The grounds are impeccable as are the many pools.

The sea was a bit rough as is usually the case on the North Coast so you're better off using one of the many pools. There is also the occasional jellyfish.

The staff were amazing, very friendly, courteous and helpful, among the most pleasant we've dealt with. Service was excellent as were the breakfast and dinner buffets. We were very pleasantly surprised.

The rooms are pleasantly and tastefully decorated in an upbeat and bright way and the view is amazing. You can choose from rooms in the main building which gives you a bird's eye view of the resort or you can choose from the chalet style rooms by the pools and gardens.

It's also close to the city of Alexandria, about 50km so if you want to go to the city it's easy. The resort of Marakia is next door if you need supermarkets and pharmacies etc.

But be prepared to see many ladies with burkinis in the pools.

Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we would go there again.
