We have stayed at almost every hotel in Manta that is upper scale and the Howard Johnson is by far, the best. The hotel is perched upon a cliff and It has a breath taking view. Good wi-fi in the lobby. The rooms are nicely designed and are equiped with coffee makers, irons, ironing boards, blow dryers, and the flat screen televisions have the most channels out of all the places we've stayed. The restaurant is very good most of the time. They also have a pretty good sushi bar in the lobby. The location is right next door to a casino and several restaurants and bars. It is also near the best pizza place/sports bar in Manta, "Good Fellas" which is owned by a fun italian guy named Mike, who is from Las Vegas and knows what pizza should taste like. Now, here are some of the drawbacks: (they are minor, but I want to be honest in my evaluation, because I am a tourist who wants other tourists to enjoy themselves) The lobby bar resembles a snack bar, but it does have a great flat screen. The pool does not have a restaurant or bar, but does have food service to it. The hot water in the shower may take a few minutes to come on, but be patient (not like my husband) it does come on. But overall, HoJo comes way out on top for us and many other business travellers who have to stay in Manta for more than a month or two. I hope this was helpful & happy travels!!!
