Got good deal (about 50e) for this hotel and stayed one night during off-season. My room was good, but my friends complained of noise from the street and couldn't sleep well. Also one of their windows didn't close properly. Reception noted these complaints - and reception was very helpful. Breakfast was not really tasty with poor coffee and artificial juice. So, one night is okay, but would not stay longer.

Disappointing

I have booked a weekend stay for my hubby and me in this hotel. It was a wellness special offer, named Pure Pleasure and it was supposed to cost 96 Euro per weekend per person.
We came there and the receptionist didn't know they had such a wellness special offer and explained us, that we only have reservation for a night and a breakfast, but offered to transfer our arrangement to half board. We were a bit disappointed, since that meant no pull for the evening, but then the guy explained that the pull, the wellness center and the sauna closes at seven p.m.
The food was very nice, there was a lot of choice and the taste was good, but the restaurant was crowded and the servants ordered us where to sit, which I found rude. I was pregnant and we got a table too small to sit normally, it was not possible to put two plates one beside another, since the table was around 40 cm wide.
The room was nice, it had an excellent view to the sea and there is just a small beach between the hotel and the sea. Beside too few towels, a bit stinky toilette and the sink being congested, the room was fine.
We tried to get some massage or anything that might simulate our wellness package, but they told us, that the wellness center is occupied until next week.
We left the next morning, so we just stayed for one night instead of two, because the hotel wasn't meeting our expectations. We paid 100 Euro per one night, which was 2 times more than the package we booked per night (and we have had no wellness treatments).
The pull was about 15x5m big, which was way too little for all the 200 guests trying to swim, the sauna has one small Turkish and one small Finish room, so again, too small for 200 guests.
The hotel is definitely not worth 4 stars.

The location of this 3-star hotel is excellent, just a few mins walk from the centre of the town and access onto the promenade that stretches some 12 km along the coast.
Reception staff were excellent and always ready to help with queries and trips. Breakfast is the typical buffet arrangement with quite a lot of selection - but always the same.
breakfast could be taken on the terrace overlooking the sea - a great start to the day.
Dinner was Buffet style with a range of different dishes. Arriving late for dinner staff would ask if you wanted anything and would get fresh supplies from the kitchen.
Rooms were comfortably furnished and always clean. Air-condition an absolute must and in our room this worked and was silent.
The only criticism is that the terrace could be cleared of the leaves more often - it made the terrace look messy.
We certainly would stay at this hotel again and is great value for money.

The Kristal Hotel on Marshal Tito street overlooks the Kvarner Bay.
It is an average three star hotel, within walking distance of the centre of Opatija town. We took b/b: the breakfast was adequate but nothing special. The rooms and facilities were clean. The indoor swimming pool was pleasant. There is a very small gym with some equipment. The hotel has its own bar/coffee-shop with a balcony overlooking the sea.Suitable as a base for tours in Croatia/Slovenia.
