As written before, the hotel Kristal is on the first sea line and very close to the Opatija center. The are cafe/restaurants/small market/souvenir shops and tours companies near the hotel.
We asked for a sea view and got it without any additional fee. We had a problem at check-in because our booking company Eshet Tours that didn't sent our names to the hotel, but lady on the reception was nice and we finally got out room. In fact, all hotel staff is polite and always trying to help.
The rooms have no balconies but the windows are big enough and a sea view is really beautiful especially in the mornings when you can watch the sunrise. The room itself is quite big and clean, but the furniture and TV are outdated. There was no bathtub in our bathroom, only the shower. The pillows are too thin and soft, could be a problem for some people.
The breakfasts were average & exactly the same each day. Don't leave your food on the tables on the outside terrace, otherwise you won't see it anymore - lots of doves are watching you! We didn't took hotel dinners as there are tons of cafe & restaurans in Opatija.
The sauna and a beach beds are not free for guests (sauna about $12, beach bed ~ $4.5 a day) No Wi-Fi in hotel but lots of free Wi-Fi points in Opatija.
Paid about $110/night B&B. The bottom line - good value for money.
