“Absolutely Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2010

This review is pretty long, so here's a quick rundown:
Firstly, I am not at all picky when it comes to hotels. I've stayed in my share of no frills places, but this hotel was absolutely terrible, everything about it. The location was close to the action, but not close enough. It was in a shady part of town that I wouldn't want to walk to at night. Rude desk people and the whole hotel smells, particularly the hallways and rooms (even non-smoking). Dirtiness of rooms leads to a feeling of sanitary concerns. Ended up paying for the room and not even staying the night. Couldn't even be partially refunded. Ended up calling Days Inn customer service just to let them know how terrible the experience was, and even they were rude. Will NEVER BE STAYING IN ANOTHER DAYS INN BECAUSE OF THIS TRIP.

Like most of the reviews, I found this to be an absolutely terrible experience. We were in AC for a night and made the split second decision to stay for another. We made a few phone calls and found that this Days Inn had relatively low rates in a good location. We decided to book it over the phone and take our luggage over to check in. This is where things went wrong...

The first thing I noticed was the hotel's surroundings. It's in a location that I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable walking to late at night after leaving the casinos. Lots of homeless and seemingly abandoned buildings and parking lots nearby. Once we went inside I noticed an odor in the lobby that was very unpleasant. We continued to check in to our room and found that our non-smoking room smelled strongly of smoke. Bathroom was very dirty. Found what we believe may have been bedbugs under the mattress. We spent about five whole minutes in our room before we left and never came back.

We talked to the desk person to see if we might be able to get all, or even some of our money back. He refused any sort of refund, claiming that since we had checked in he couldn't do anything about it. We decided to simply take the hit and go stay at one of the casinos. The feeling of relief once we checked into our room there was amazing, but we were still a little bummed about the money that we had just wasted.

Once we got home, we called the main Days Inn company's customer service. We didn't necessarily want anything, we just wanted to let them know how terrible the experience was, and tell them that this particular hotel in the chain was bringing down the standards of the company. I was very nice on the phone, and was greeted with rudeness. The customer service representative practically called me a liar, and seemingly didn't care that I was saying I might never be staying at another Days Inn. After the phone call, I KNOW I'll never be staying at another Days Inn.

Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

“Very Satisfied.....Great Location”

Read some reviews after making reservation & thought I made a mistake...Mistake was believing some of the other reviews. This motel has NO Valet parking nor do they want to carry your bags to the room for an extra tip. We stayed in the room with 3 double beds for 2 nights. The beds were above average, the room was clean, the location to the Boardwalk & casinos is great. The breakfast is average, but it wasn't powdered milk as one reviewer wrote. Don't be afraid to stay here......Is it the Hilton? No, I didn't expect it to be. The towels aren't 2 inches thick & plush, but they were O.K.. My only complaint.....our room, #272, needs a new window curtain. some of the backing had come off and it didn't keep daylight out as it should in the early morning. I WILL stay in again!!!

“this disguisting hotel is really a Days Inn?!?”

the lobby and floors was disgusting, smelled heavily cigarette smoke. felt like i was back in high school with all of the rules that was imposed on us:absolutely no visitors in your room (no they can't even help you bring your stuff up) and you can't even bring your own breakfast to your room. this days inn looks like it was built in the 1960's-70's and was never renovated. honestly i would not recommend this hotel to anyone, if you need a hotel go further out or get into a nicer one (tropicana, borgata, trump.) especially if you dont want to get sick from the nasty motel like cigarette smell. i really thought days inn was better then this

“Nasty”

We wanted a Saturday-night stay that wouldn't be exorbitant, but next time I'll spend the money. This place is beyond seedy. Not clean, smelled of smoke, questionable bed linens. The only upside was that we checked for bedbugs and couldn't find any. It's hard to believe this is a part of a reputable chain like Days Inn.

“Dream vacation turned into a nightmare Lori from Pa.”

I waited all year to go to A.C. I was finally able to schedule time away from work, and booked a Days Inne, for the boardwalk, 2 months in advance...I was told this was on the boardwalk, only a few yards from Tropicana. Normally, I would stay at Trop, but they were booked for the Holiday. I received a friendly e-mail , a week before arrival, through Travelocity, confirming all the details. I was on the boardwalk, oceanfront view - with a balcony. I called , making sure our price did not change because of the holiday, and I was told I was steps away from Trop. Thrilled, I got on the bus, ready to meet my son in A.C. , who was already vacationing in Ocean City. We went to check in , only to be told we are at the wrong Days Inn.....our Days Inn was 11 BLOCKS AWAY.....Dumbfounded, I called Travelocity, who - by the way - were very very courteous and sympathetic. He tried to have my room switched from 11 BLOCKS AWAY to the one I originally thought I had. The Travelocity spokesman said there was no manager at the Kentucky sight to talk to , and the Morris sight had no authority to change reservations...I was stuck, with no choice but to go the 11 BLOCKS. My son was afraid to leave me there by myself. It wasn't on the boardwalk, as promised and advertised. it was a block away, and 11 BLOCKS from my son's destination....and my balcony faced a half deserted , run down parking lot.. Finally we get there after 3 , only to be told we must wait til 4 to check in....plus I was required to have AAA in order for the discount which was never ever ever mentioned to me in the 2 months of waiting...never again will I go to a Days Inn....Never.
