My partner and I spent one night here in a corner suite and were pleasantly surprised, for the most part, by this hotel. The location--across the street from the Convention Center and also across from the outlet shopping "district"--was convenient for arriving/departing, and the boardwalk and its casinos were about a half-mile walk away. The lobby of the hotel is pretty grand, for a Sheraton, and points to the hotel's history with the Miss America pageant but not in a tacky way (OK, the flat-screen TV playing a loop of the last decades' "crowning moments" might be a *little* over the top). The "Shoe Bar" is really just a tiny bar in the second-floor lobby--the show displays are actually located across the room on the walls of the lobby. But this was really the only thing that struck me as disappointing about the hotel. Our room was in relatively good shape (some scuffs on the wallpaper, one missing outlet cover behind the bed) and had the typical Sheraton amenities, plus a nice view of Atlantic City. We heard very little noise within the hotel, though the large windows did make street noises more audible. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food at the breakfast buffet was passable (and relatively inexpensive). And gym bunnies will delight at the GORGEOUS and new-looking equipment in the fitness center (plus they have a PowerPlate--wow!). Overall, this is a good, solid choice in AC if you don't mind walking/taking a taxi over to the Boardwalk or the more far-flung casinos (Borgata)--save your $$ for the slots and stay here!
