I unfortunately did not read the reviews for this hotel prior to leaving. I relied on my travel agent in colombia who said its not a bad hotel. This hotel was terrible from the start. Had to wait 3 hours to get to our room. They had booked 200 young basketball players into the hotel and they were staring, eyeing and disrespecting my fiancee. Can you imagine hoping for a romantic week with your fiancee to have 40 basketball players sitting around you at lunch or squeeze into elevator with you or staring at you and your fiancee as you enter or leave your room. The beds are horrible, we checked in and discovered a double bed which is smaller then usa style for the two of us with a horribly cheap mattress. Small room, crappy bathroom. We asked for bigger bed and they showed us a room with 4 small beds we could have. Was very angry about it, this place is set up for large families on a budget for schools and people who want to party. It is the last place you want to go if you are with a girlfriend or wife, noisy, tons of guests since 3 to 4 beds per room and at least 20 rooms per level. Several other guests left the first day as we did and checked in next door at the Casa Blanca. I am telling you. Do not book into this hotel unless you are happy in a below level of a motel 6 with no privacy and tons of young colombians running around. I would not of stayed here free with my fiancee. I normally dont write reviews or complain but do not want to see someone else stuck at this place and also lose their money since we booked it as a package I had to pay for this place and the new hotel but was worth it to get out of the calypso. one of guests told me his toilet did not even work... Was funny since they were on the same plane as us and ended up at casa blance with us, they knew they werent gonna stay as soon as they were in the lobby. Had to laugh when I said that the basketball players were rude to my fiancee and the manager was like oh they are not rude, what a joke of a hotel again only suitable for party animals and someone who cant afford to book anywhere else, all others stay far away, do not trust your colombian travel agency.... they dont know what the they are talking about.
