“Nice Beach and Bed but not much more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

On the positive side, you're right on the beach, the bed's comfortable, and the location is more relaxed than San Andres town (if that's important to you). However, the room I was given faced the reception area and could be noisy if I didn't keep the air conditioner on all the time. I was told I could change, but opted to stay since I was only there 3 nights. The breakfast was fine for me; I only ate dinner once (a la carte) and it was good, if a bit pricey. There was a cockroach in my room but I realize this is the tropics and in general things were clean. The staff were very nice.

In general all of San Andres was a let down after spending almost a week on Providencia, which I found to be much more appealing.

Room Tip: Try to get a room closer to the beach, which can be difficult in high season

the front desk staff is very friendly and beach is Ok. The rooms need to be renovated as well as the towels ! There is no hot water in the showers in the morning.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a sea view

“Good location. Great beach.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

This hotel is situated on a very nice beach of San Andrés. This is the best feature of this hotel. The bedroom lacks maintenance. It was difficult to open the door of the bedroom and it made a lot of noise. The bathroom really had to be redone. It looked old and some tiles were black. We tried to use the safe, but it didn´t work, even if we called the staff twice to unblock it. They said they would fix it later, but it was never done. WE also had problems with lack of water in the room early in the morning the 2 days we stayed there. After asking somebody at the front desk and waiting a little bit, the problem was solved. Otherwise, the complimentary bottles of water were welcome, the bed was comfortable and the room had enough space with a balcony with a lateral view to the sea. The breakfast was ok: some regional food (arepas), but not copious. The place where the breakfast is served is nice, with a a beautiful view of the beach. The restaurant of the hotel is ok too. We had dinner there and we were pleased with the choices of the menu and the quality of the food served. And the price is reasonable. There is wi-fi connection, but it is only available at the reception, at the bar and at the restaurant.

“Not impressed...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

The bed was nice and the beach was decent. However, this did not make up for the cockroaches in the room, the mold in the shower (more than a little), the lack of warm water in the shower (which was brought to the attention of the staff no less than 4 times with no resolution). Our request for a second towel (as we are two people) fell on deaf ears. Eventually we just got tired of asking. Dinner was good, breakfast was marginal. We checked out early and would not go back.

“Very good hotel, with its own beach near Rocky Kay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

Stayed here for the second time in Nov 2011, and again I had an excellent time. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes drive from the airport, 500m away from Rocky Kay beach. It's small and comprehend only small caribbean style buildings. There is nothing much around and it's perfect for honeymooners or just to relax away from the city. The city centre is 15 minutes away by taxi, that can be arranged easily with the receptionist, since buses take long to come. The rooms are spacious, with big beds, very clean, with air conditioner and a good tv channels selection. There is mini fridge (empty, so convenient to bring your own stuff) and complimentary water and candies. The bathroom is ok, a bit small; there was no hot water available so we had to ask the reception to repair it, and also water pressure was low most of the times. My room had a balcony facing the street so it was a bit noisy early in the morning. The restaurant is average and a bit overpriced, although the corn soup and the lemon fish fillet are nice. The staff is friendly and ready to help. I enjoyed a lot the sea view from this small hotel, it's a good value for the money.

Room Tip: In the second floor, with a balcony not facing the street. The big rooms in the 3rd floor are also v...
