“So you want peace & quiet on SAI? This is the place for you!”

We had the awesome opportunity to visit all of the Decamerons during our 2 week stay and found them all awesome for different reasons.

Los Delfines is in a perfect location... just off the main beach and downtown. The food was excellent and given that the hotel is only a 5 minutes walk away from the Decameron Aquarium you still have access to the big hotel pleasures of a disco, multiple bars, evening entertainment, water craft rental, etc...

Additionally you are next door to a good car rental place so it's easy to get a golf cart for the day to visit the island / go shopping / hang out at the Decameron beach club.

Beyond that, the service was exceptional... we constantly had bar and food service to our room so we could sit on the balcony and listen to the ocean... The chef made us special meals on 3 different occasions... really good food... i couldn't get enough of the civeche.

Anyway... nothing negative to say from our stay.

“Pleasant hotel in good location near shops”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

I would've given excellent rating were it not for the cheap, tasteless alcoholic drinks they had. I can see the management has cut corners on costs when it comes to it's all inclusive deal. Coco Loca tasted like industrial alcohol with some coconut sweetner! Having said that, if you choosed your drink carefully, it was usually quite pleasant. Food was generally ok although I found some of the flavours a bit flat. Not top notch grub but it was edible.

“A wonderful place for couples”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2010

We're just back form our second stay delightful stay at Los Delfines, and had a relaxing time at this smallish hotel on the sea. The standard rooms are a bit small, but then how much time are you going to spend in it when you have an island of beaches to explore? We go to the Decameron Beach Club at Rocky Cay.

The really good things about Los Delfines are:
- no groups of teenagers
- no large family groups with hoards of screaming kids
- the a la carte restaurant produces meals that are a cut above standard Colombian cooking, in other words, meat and fish come with sauces and not grilled or boiled to death!
- attentive smiling service
- very close to shopping and the town beach

The downside is the load vallinato and regaeton music from the almost permanently empty bar of the neighbouring hotel during the day. There may be another problem after December 2010, because a nightclub is being built next door. I do hope they don't spoil this haven of relaxation and tranquillity.

“the worts hotel ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

I had travel all over the world and this is the worst hotel I had ever been. I wanted to stay at decameron marazul but it was full, so I had no choice but to stay at this hotel.

Fists the hotel was assembled with prefabricated material, therefore the hotel is basically made with paper, you can hear literally everything what is going on on the next room. But worst is that the hotel is in a bar area in which they play loud music until 6 in the morning. If you want to rest forget about it, it is like being at the bars.

Second, the service at the restaurant is terrible, it is better to make a reservation at marazul, but it will depend in availability and you have to pay a taxi to take you there..

The staff at the reception very rude, I wanted to move at a different hotel, even I was willing to lose my deposit but the weekend I was there was a festive weekend and all the hotels were full. so I had to endure a miserable trip.

San Andres it is interesting island but expensive. The scuba is nice and swimming with the stingers its fun. If you decide to go I strongly suggest you stay at marazyl or sunrise hotel that is closer to downtown.

“An All Inclusive Hidden Gem for Family Vacations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

I believe this is one of the best hotels in San Andrés Island.

After moving around through the whole Decameron Hotels in the Island during my visit, the only one that was "comparable" in quality was Decameron "Marazul". The higher note was for Delfines, based on location and room quality. I´ve been in every class of hotel in San Andrés, and this one is for sure a hidden gem for a family vacation.

In the first floor you will find the standard rooms, good enough if you are travelling with a small party (no more than 4). My kids stayed there, while the adults stayed in the junior suite. The whole hotel circles the kind of small swimming pool.

Note: And if you are a privacy freak, first floor is not for you.

The downsides:
1. If you are looking for a high variety of meals / drinks each day, you won´t find it there. Don´t get me wrong, food quality is good, but you might find that the food menu "cycle" runs every 3 days, I believe.

2. There is a limit of 3 adults (13+ years) per room - never understood or asked why, anyway...but that might be a problem if you have a big family with very different age groups. So the lesson is: ASK before you buy!

3. Sound "insulation". Despite is very well located (30 meter walk to the beach, 30 meter walk to the shopping area, 5 meter walk to transportation services) , there are a couple of disco clubs nearby, so in the night, you might find some troubles trying to sleep. Is not THAT bad, is just that if you want absolute silence, you might have to request a room nearby the beach area.

The good:

1. Good, clean rooms.
2. Good WCs.
3. Air conditioner...that actually works... In the junior suite, you have 2 dedicated air conditioners. In the standard rooms, there is a central system...that also works! ;)
4. Good WCs.
5. Swimming pool is good, and it will let your kids take a rest from the salty water.
6. The hotel is relatively small, so it´s not crowded like Decameron Aquario or Decameron San Luis.
7. Location.
8. Next to the hotel Lord Pierre, where you may buy tourist packages for a very really good price.
9. Good, decent food. Not gourmet. Remember that you CAN go to other Decameron hotels in the island to try other food, but make sure to reserve your spot in the hotel you want to visit.
10. Friendly and FLEXIBLE staff. My flight was at 10pm, and my checkout from the hotel was at 1pm. So I talked with the receptionist and asked if i could stay a bit longer (7pm) so i didn´t have to spend the day wondering with the whole family...they let me and I´m very grateful for that. In any case, ASK before doing that, they might have to "decline" your request based on room´s demand for the day.

Final note: Try the Decameron Club de Playa, in Rocky Kay. Your kids will love the chance to go very further in the sea.
