This is a very poor & dated hotel and I'd advise anyone thinking of staying here to think again and spend your money elsewhere!

A reservation begins from June for October, on having come they say that there are no rooms for flood, offer us a room in the last floors in very poor condition where the bed fits half a person and not even the compartiriamos two a bath where it was not in the room and they we were having to go out to a corridor to do row to have a shower, on not having wanted this room offered us another hotel, us parecio better until empezo the trip for the this place of approximately 30 minutes of tour in taxi the free going for the disadvantage, but if queriamos to go to big mouth $ were receiving from us 40.000 equal going for the return when the jefe of personnel did the claim was rude enough of the point of shouting ourselves.The days that moved us for the hotel admiral in big mouth I prove that the shower was not in poor condition and ever they solved it to have a shower it was the whole chaos, and to finish one of the girls of receipt jenny spent enough from confidence with my husband, I believe that this girls' class with foreigners' delirium not deberian to have in this hotel. This girl I happen of attentive to over-familiar.

The hotel is well located, in the middle of a nice area, lot of restaurants around and one block from the beach. It is located in the best area of Cartagena, but a little bit far way from downtown and "Ciudad Amurallada" what it's you want to visit in Cartagena. However, taxis are really unexpensive here so it is not a problem at all.
Staff is very friendly, the hotel has a beauty pool in 6th floor, with a great view and an incredible sunset. The rooms are Ok, but it's all you need since you will be out the whole day.
The hotel has a modern style but it could be improved a little more in some details that make it look old. For example old bathroom fittings with some rust, and old carpets. Now, being located in front of the beach in a highly wet city, it is expected.
If you decide to go here, you have to request for a high floor room to have a nice view. 6th floor or down you'll only see other buldings.
Recommendation for travelers here, do not buy tours directly in the hotel, you have a lot of agencies around and you can get big discounts if you negotiate well. The hotel has flat fares for their tours because they are links only for the same agencies out.
I recommend this hotel.

The claim of 5 stars is absurd. This is an average 3-Star property...
- Check-in entails a long long wait.
- Food and drinks rices are are simply TOO high.
- Room floors are terrible... Tiles with dirty grout make floors look horrible.
- Shower tiles dirty with mildew.
- Shower heavy leak was never repaired even though we reported it to front desk (in spite of having all sorts of "Save Water" stickers and brochures).
- When we first occupied our room, we noticed several items in the Mini Bar list were missing; we called the front desk inmediately and we were told the Mini Bar person would go to our room to fix the issue - but this never happened.

On the positive side:
- Friendly personnel.
- Good breakfast.
- Good beds that make for a good sleep.

I would stay there again, but with clear expectations for a 3-Star experience.
