I must say this hotel is rather 'old' when I first check-in. Seems that this hotel has been around for ages!
The interior of the room deco was out dated! However the staff's hospitable service was commendable and pays attention to detail. Breakfast selection was quite extensive with Western, Chinese, local Sichuan and even extend to Japanese cuisine as well.
Apart from being strategically located to nearby shopping destination it has easy access to MRT station as well.

We stayed here Wednesday night for one night with our two preteen girls. This hotel was selected by our tour group. It was terrible. One of the worst experiences ever.

We had booked and triple confirmed non-smoking rooms that were adjoining. Upon check in, we were told the rooms were 4 doors apart. Best they had we were told as they are sold out. English was barely spoken so our guide translated.

Went up to the rooms and the girls twin room was heavily smoked in. We refused the room. Front desk offered another room 10 doors away on another wing. Too far for young kids.. We refused.

More discussions led to a miraculous two rooms that were adjacent. Where were these before? Unfortunately, one of the new rooms was like a smokers lounge. Hotel offered to remove ash trays to resolve. We refused.

Finally, one hour later we had two non smoking rooms that were 3 doors apart. We were out of options. Was on a smoking floor so this was not fun.

Breakfast was lukewarm with more heavy smokers. Milk was warm and juices from a powdered mix. Food was not appetizing.

A terrible experience at a poorly run heavy smoking hotel.

Very worn out, terrible
The carpets in the whole hotel was very dirty.
It was so bad even in the restaurant that I did not eat breakfast. I lost my appetite when the waiters stood on their knees scraping food from the carpets.
I suppose the staff was polite and nice, but the quality of the hotel was very poor.
It was an agency who choose the hotel for us, but I would never stay there again.

Rooms were clean and reasonably equipped. Breakfasts were good (both Chinese and western style) and the menu changed daily. Pool was clean, but remember to bring your swim cap.
Location was good - close to non-touristy shopping, and easy access to transportation and local attractions.
