Probably the best business hotel I have stayed in. All the amenities were covered (including the umbrella in the closet). Great workout and pool/spa facility - well managed. Used the executive club level for breakfast each day - very good. Would definitely stay here again, and try any hotel in the Shangri-La system.

The hotel is not adhering to the no smoking indoors rule that came into being in China on 1 May. The non smoking breakfast/buffet area is cramped for non-smokers while the smokers puff away in a large area next to the food. The lobby, bar and low ceilinged seating area are also smoke zones. The hotel is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment of the entrance and lobby resulting in temporary low ceilinged corridors . I would hope that it would become a more modern hotel when this has been completed. I hesitate to criticise housekeeping for being a little enthusiastic but they did ignore my do not disturb sign when I was sleeping in the afternoon with a telephone call to see if I was in, followed by persistent knocking of the door and then entrance to the room. The higher prices of this Shangri-La compared to others in China reflects a high occupancy rate by Germans customers supporting the car industry in the local area. Free Internet is very welcome. Changchun Shangri-La is not as good value as other Shangri-La hotels in China but it will no doubt improve when the refurbishment is complete.

my first time in china and in changchun so no comparison possible. I had a superior room (no.1417). roomy and comfortable with free internet included, lan cable available in room. free wifi in the lobby and pretty good speed. hotel is in a good location, lots of restaurants and shopping malls around. service and room ok.
some noise and bed smells on the lobby due to refurbishment undergoing in these weeks. rooms are very hot and dry, turn off heating as soon as you enter and drink a lot of water :). just in front of the hotel there is a shopping mall with walmart where to buy anything you might need.
small pool and small fitness center, but all you need is there. so bring swimwear, swimcap and sandals. taka a look at their ecircle loyalty club
common areas are smoking areas, so be advised.
if you need a taxi in business hours, remember to book it at the concierge. late checkout easily available and with no extra charge (I got it from 12 to 17). cleaning serivice ok (shirt cleaning for about 3.5 euros).

The location of this hotel is excellent and very convenient. There are shopping malls just next door with lots of places to eat around the vicinity.

Didn't have much expectations before we got to the hotel I guess because we didn't expect much in Changchun. And for the rate we paid for I had no great expectations. But was very delighted by the hotel overall.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly hostess by the entrance and was directed immediately to our room. Child amenities were provided.

Staff are very friendly and nice making our stay extra pleasant.

The room was clean and spacious. Abit dated but still comfortable and clean. The beds are comfortable. However it didnt seem like there was an aircon in the room, it was more like a heater. And during this time of the year (May) it was quite warm. We tried opening the windows but it was hard to fall asleep at night with the outside roadside noises. And you couldn't really open the window wide enough to get much air in. So I can't really say we slept well. Just wish they had a normal aircon.

The breakfast buffet had a good selection and was adequate.

This place helped make our stay in Changchun pleasant enough.
