Suzhou gets even more beautiful staying in a hotel like this. Very beautiful style cared in all details for Chinese style lovers, quiet environment but in a lifely city. Be in the hotel: modern in old structure nicely rennovated and practical. Rest. Go out 2 min: and be among young lifely and friendly people (and extraordinary beautiful girls, you cannot find elsewhere in the world). Excellent Chinese food in small family restaurants.

The gardens in the hotel are really cool, the hotel is kept very clean. The room I had was tiny but nice. Not too far from the popular gardens. Great breakfast buffet.

I stayed at the Suzhou Garden View hotel for the third time earlier this year (May 2010). It is nicely located in the old part of the city, near some main shopping streets and close to the 'old streets' of Suzhou where the canal runs through. I was in Suzhou for work purposes, but this hotel would be a good location for a tourist visit.
Hotel is nice, and very Chinese in style - the layout is very much like the traditional gardens of Suzhou, with open courtyards and walkways throughout. Rooms are nice, have comfy beds, nice bathrooms and free internet access. I have never eaten much at the hotel (there are so many nice restaurants to try locally!), but always enjoy sitting out in the main courtyard garden for a drink.
It can be hard to get a taxi outside the hotel as it is set back from the road (and in a busy area) but the hotel staff are more than happy to help! One tiny negative - the hotel officially has a 'fitness centre' but this is just a couple of treadmills in a room above reception - and I couldn't get them to work... but overall, it's a great find - and usually considerably cheaper and much more charming than the western chain hotels available in the city.

The Hotel is in a superb location In the old part of the City, within walking distance of The Lions Garden, The Humble Administrator's Garden and other sites, as well as the main shopping street is just around the corner.

However it is not near the new Business district, but catching a Taxi is not a problem and cheap too.

The rooms are very clean, ideal for a 4 star hotel, the Garden is traditional and very well maintained. The staff is overly friendly, however only few speak good english.
There is internet in every room.
