I spent 4 nights at this hotel, travelling for business. The location was convenient in the sense you could take a walk to do shopping or dining out, otherwise the hotel was I guess OK, but more in the Asian local standards. Some Asian hotels are very fancy, but this was moderate with quite dirty rooms. I would call this a local hotel, not up to international hotel standards but not a bad one either. Service is not very friendly but at least I got to sleep there, unlike somewhere else :)

We stayed 2 nights at Suzhou Garden View Hotel in early November 2011. The hotel is more traditional in style than the other hotels we had in China. There is a very nice garden in the inner courtyard where we enjoyed our morning coffee.This is an ideal place to relax or check your email. There is wifi in the lobby and in the garden. The room was OK; it was comfortable enough, even though not very large. We prefer tile floors (or any hard surface), but the rug was clean, so it was not really an inconvenience. Our room was clean and the hotel seemed well maintained. Breakfast was included; there was a good variety and the food was good, but not outstanding.
The hotel is very well located, in the heart of downtown. Master of the Nets Garden, the Silk Museum, the Pagoda and the Humble Administrator Garden, all interesting sites to visit, are all within walking distance. The shopping district is on the next street; there is a Buddhist temple in the shopping area where Chinese go to pray and burn incense; this was a memorable experience for us. Lots of restaurants nearby also.
We would not hesitate to go back to this hotel.

All I can say about this hotel is its superb location. It is just next to Suzhou's famous shopping area called Guan Qian Jie. You can shop till late night and walk back to the hotel. You can find many restaurants nearby serving wide variety of food. Staff are friendly and helpful. My friends and I had an enjoyable stay here. Highly recommended!!

Suzhou gets even more beautiful staying in a hotel like this. Very beautiful style cared in all details for Chinese style lovers, quiet environment but in a lifely city. Be in the hotel: modern in old structure nicely rennovated and practical. Rest. Go out 2 min: and be among young lifely and friendly people (and extraordinary beautiful girls, you cannot find elsewhere in the world). Excellent Chinese food in small family restaurants.
