This place is in a very secluded area, so getting out of it may be a pain, meaning that you'll most likely be staying at this resort and paying for the very overpriced and bland food. Worst ripoff: the dinner buffet. Just don't bother.
On the other hand, this resort is very unique. The pools are gorgeous, and it feels like a tropical rainforest. The landscaping and plants are beautiful. The beach was a little disappointing- the water wasn't very blue and the sand was coarse compared to the beach we visited at Dadonghai, where we paid significantly less. Mostly, we just stayed in the pools, which were fun.
My main issue was the service. It really wasn't English-friendly, so make sure to stay here only if you know Mandarin Chinese. I am a native Chinese speaker, but was still unimpressed by the service. My American boyfriend found it very hard to get around without me.
We rented a car for the entire day for 300 RMB (a service provided by Narada). It was supposed to take us around Sanya to scenic spots such as End of the Earth and Nanshan Temple. However, our driver told us as soon as we were about a mile away from Narada that these places were closed that day. What I didn't understand was why he didn't tell us this before we paid the 300 and got into the car. This left us with nothing to do. Annoyed, we returned to Narada and asked him to come back at 6:15 to pick us up to go to the airport. At 5:40, he called me, demanding that I come into the car immediately. We were rushed to the airport with only the explanation that we were hurried out so early because the roads were closing due to the storm. However, I know for a fact that the roads were not closing; this made me very angry. His attitude toward us was horrible and it seemed like he just wanted to get rid of us so he could go home.
Narada is a beautiful, unique place- don't get me wrong- but I would go somewhere else just for the service. You pay for five-star service and food here, but you just don't get it.
