I would agree with every word in the review of Jagooah which he wrote back in December , 2009. Nothing seems to have changed over these 1.5 years. We also chose this hotel as recommended for families with children solely for the purpose of having our 7 year old son occupied with some activities which children need in abundance to keep them and parents equally happy. The beach is great, with a lot of sunshades which is very helpful out on a sunny and hot day.
The rooms in building 1 where we lived вшв not seem new but truly clean and well maintained by the personnel which proved to be very attentive and friendly. Inadequate knowledge of English sometimes created minor issues but that was not vital and could easily be skipped and neglected. A very good feature is a free in-room computer with Internet connection (also free) which one could use as a CD/DVD player as well (again good for kids with their own preferences of cartoons).
The prices in hotel restaurants were truly high for China, but just across the street the Crowne Plaza center could easily cater to many of anybody's needs at rather reasonable prices (either for good coffee, ice-cream, pizza, or for Chinese cuisine etc including a small Chinese pharmacy, spa, shopping center, children amusements). At night the Plaza offers a live performance right there in the center of it which makes your stay even more enjoying. At the same time, the hotel itself also has a couple of singers who brilliantly perform every night in Building 1, which made me feel more convinced that our Building 1 was a much better place then Building 2, which at that time was in the process of some renovation (right in the lobby of Buildig 2 some works were underway, although I can't say I could hear them going on, but they mismatched the atmosphere). While the lobby and all the ground floor areas of Building 1 seemed extremely cosy and blending with the overall environment of the wonderful tropical garden, which in fact was another point for me to choose this hotel (in addition to the child-friendly focuse). The staff at the kid's center was very caring and my son loved coming there even despite the fact that he could not speak with them (they speak Chinese and some English).
One of strange things was that swimming at sea was allowed only from 9:00 to 19:00. Although we understand the reason behind this rule. One of swimming pools (the largest of them) was open till 22:00. The only thing quite disappointing is that the water in all of them was very warm.
All in all, we arrived to a conclusion that there is no need to go to the city Center which is about half ah nour taxi drive from the hotel. This whole area together with the Crowne plaza is relaxing and complete.
