Postiviley the worst hotel experience in 8 years in China. Complete disregard for customer service. Bell boys ignored us with luggage. Front desk no English spoken. Reservation for king bed ocean view balcony deluxe became twin rooms. Not gay friendly (even sneers from staff). No reward points accepted. Fake room service menus (offering food they do not sell) Disco not open. Bars closed earlier than apointed times. Pool bar NEVER opened during our stay. Found one staff member that spoke english, he explained good staff long gone to Yalong bay and other hotels. A depressing and expensive stay -- mainland China so much better, nicer and service orientated.

Although check-in time is 3pm to their standard, we still have to wait for another 45 minutes. Room size is good but bathroom has black mould stains around many corners. We were woken up at midnight at 1am due to very weak air-con (26 C) and was offered a room move but to our surprise the room was even warmer (28 C). Can you imagine running around the hotel at midnight looking for a comfortable room to sleep??? According to the staff the temperature display in those rooms were incorrect. I believe the air-con chiller was not in full operation at late night in order to save energy. We decided to stay put in our room and check-out the next day. This really ruined our long waited vacation. Never trust what is promised through the phone if you happens to call the hotel front desk.

Booked this as a package for a long weekend from Hong Kong. Very good value for a 4 star, with nice facilities. Hotel is on the Sanya Bay beach about 9 km up the beach from downtown Sanya, so clean and quiet. Short drive from the airport, unlike the much more distant hotels in Yalong Bay. (Our room was "Sea View" and we heard no noise at all from the airport.) Good, high-speed, free internet in the rooms. Nightly seafood buffet right at the beach was a treat for one night (and the Filipino singers were quite good!) Breakfast buffet is just okay. Sanya doesn't have a lot of nightlife or culture, but this was a great place to chill out on the beach.

There were 10 of us travelling during Christmas. We joined a tour package from Hong Kong at the last minute as all of the tickets and hotels were booked up during the holiday season. The hotel's facilities were not bad including two restaurants, two bars and a spa. Their guest room size was okay and amenities were adequate. However the walls were thin and we could hear our neighbours. We weren't expecting too much as it is a 3-star property (they claim it to be a 4-star). Since the hotel is located next to the Sanya Airport and our rooms were facing the airport and not the ocean. We could hear the flights taking off and landing, making it very difficult to sleep because of the noise. The hotel has a nice pool but it was not heated. Unfortunately, it was raining the whole time when we were in Sanya and the lower than normal temperture didn't help either. There weren't much for us to do even though the beach or the golf course was only 250 metres away from the hotel. Besides, the beach was mediocre and there were many locals touting us to buy their fruits or their services as a tour guide. It was rather annoying. Another problem was food. Other than hotel restaurants, there was nowhere else to eat. What a boring place? We travel all over Asia frequently. We felt that Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia offer so much more in terms of culture and food experience. Hainan has nothing to offer. Sanya's tourism development board has a lot of work to do. I would not recommend this destination, don't waste your time and money. They are not ready for tourist yet.
