I've stayed at the Marco Polo twice over a span of 6 months on separate visits to Shenzhen. It is very conveniently located in the financial district, and even though I was not there for meetings in the area, it was a short taxi ride to the industrial parts of the city. It is within walking distance to restaurants and a busy collection of bars. The staff is always friendly and helpful, but the lobby is small, when one considers the number of guests they pack on the 30+ floors of the hotel. The wait for the elevator can be long, especially during rush hours. Otherwise the lobby and rooms are clean, neat and modern.
I would have considered giving this hotel a 4 but for an incident during my first stay there. After checking in and going for a walk, I returned to find a stranger's bags in my room. Apparently someone (either bellboy or a hotel guest) was given access to my room for storage of the bags, even though it was clear I had checked in and my belongings were everywhere. To its credit, the hotel sent someone to personally apologize when they realize their mistake.
A good hotel and I would stay here again
