Hotel allows smoking in rooms. So ask for a non smoking floor if this is a problem. It's a good quality property. Bit old though. Chinese style hotel. Free wifi in foyer. Couldn't get room wifi to work though. They offer a single person room that's very cheap. Easy access to shopping, food banks etc. no other facilities just a bar and card room. Plenty of food and drink less than 5 mins walk or at hotel next door.

If you just want a cheap but good quality room. This is the go. Near the electronics shopping district.

This is one of the closest hotels to SEG Mart.

Hotel is clean, chinese-style western. There's free internet and close to SEG Mart, so you can dash in, dump your shopping and go back for more.

There's a Korean restaurant round the back that is really quite good, with huge heaping servings, and it's next to a shopping mall underground.

I'd stay here - or at one of the spas at Lok Ma Chau or Luo Hu.

It's like visiting an old friend. The purpose of staying is really to see if anything has changed after my last stay five years ago. Fortunately, this hotel is just as I remember it , which is great. Every cab driver knows this hotel which is part of the reasons why I put up here. Don't get me wrong, this is no 5 star, or even international 4 star hotel and there are certainly a lot of much more upmarket hotels in Shenzhen but if you want to experience a Chinese-take on Western Style accommodation, then it's a great choice. Hotels.com seems to have great deals on this hotel. I got a Executive room with breakfast for a US$70/night. Service was efficient, e.g. Wifi signals was weak in my room and they kindly set up a modem via the in room ethernet for my room. Can't complain. For a forty-plus year old property in a city where 5 -year- old buildings are considered old school, it's doing great!

The service at this hotel is terrible! I am from the US - I booked 4 executive level rooms through E-Long. When we arrived, the hotel had canceled our rooms because of over-booking. They basically didn't care - once they informed us of the cancelation they wouldn't even talk to us to try and help us out. Elong wasn't of much help either to be honest. I finally had to locate a hotel and tell Elong to contact them. Also, from the looks of the lobby this is probably a 2 star hotel - maybe a 3 star at most.
