Difu Hotel at Zhenhua Rd (there is another Difu hotel farther north) caters mostly to tour groups, single men (for whom there is a spa), and traveling business men. I did not spot a single female staying at this hotel. It is mostly an old structure located in an interesting intersection of Shenzhen, with older buildings and businesses sharing spaces with newer high-rises and commerce (Wal Mart, KFC). Its price curve (around 38 USD for a single room) is similarly at the dividing line between the 3-4-5 hotels and the more modest lodgings in Shenzhen.
For the technological consumer, the hotel is located a short walk from Huaqiang North Road (to the hotel's west) with a plethora of technological artifacts for sale from radios and televisions to iPads and cellular phones. It is definitely convenient for business people and tourists in this regards. I cannot fully recommend this hotel as there are much better options in the city at a slightly higher range. It is certainly not a family hotel.
Furthermore, service was spotty. There was no heater available in my room and no explanations were given to me as to why. My television did not work. The management did attempt to fix it for me, but it became impossible. If you are in a budget, you may want to look at other offerings become committing. If you do, your stay will not be entirely unpleasant, but certainly unremarkable.
