Good hotel despite showing its age a bit [25 years], great location and friendly service but the 3 day stay was spoilt by the noise from the disco in the wee small hours. We finally had to go down to reception to complain and were advised that it would finish at 4.00 a.m. They did however change our room for the following night and we had a decent nights sleep - and view of the railway station. No compensation for the inconvenience and lack of sleep though.

If you are planning a stay make sure that your your is away from the disco!

great hotel with many staff who speak good english. Hotel is located just one block from Lo Wu shopping centre and the lo wu border. There are also many bars and nignt clubs near by. A great location for anyone heading up from Hong Kong for a day or two. Concierge staff especially were very friendly and willing to go that extra step to ensure everything is organised.

The Century Plaza is near the railway station (about two blocks away) in the Luohu area of Shenzhen (close to Hong Kong). It is just a short bus or bus/train into HK (passing through immigration as you do so). The area is a cross between typical mid-country China and a big western city such as New York or Berlin.

The hotel itself is very neat, clean and the rooms are very comfortable with nice amenities (although no hotels in China provide an iron or ironing board in the room). There is an excellent buffet breakfast with a large assortment of Chinese, Japanese and western style foods available. That room, with a very nice view of the city through huge window-walls, becomes a wine and cigar bar at night. Don't worry, the room never smells like cigars; the ceilings are very high and the ventilation system is excellent. Also, I rarely if ever see anyone smoking there.

Compared to the Hyatt's and Sheraton's (also, very very nice in Shenzhen) this is an excellent bargain and comfortable for people used to western accommodations.

500 rmb walk-in rate as I was in a hurry and couldn't book online.

No complaints ..........location is great for Luo Hu border with HK (about 10 minute walk)
