I stayed here twice since this hotel offers a good value for money. Last time they gave me a free upgrade to the top floor, since all non-smoking rooms were occupied.

The hotel is not too big and has a good breakfast with good coffee. The Japanese restaurant is good and they have fresh food.

The rooms are not too spacious but comfortable and clean.

I like to hotel location for 2 reasons:
1: When you want to Italian food, there are 2 restaurants just opposite of the hotel.
2: only a short ride from the airport (20 minutes)

All in all a good hotel and I would go here again when visiting Xiamen

Marco Polo Xiamen was updated and renovated during this past two years. Rooms are very modern and very well equipped. This is a hotel catered to businessmen. Food at Lotus Restaurant is excellent and Coffee Shop offers great Western and Chinese selections for breakfast. Staff is very help and well trained. Overall an excellent value for a 5 star hotel in one of the cleanest city in China. Highly recommend this location.

Great hotel. The pool is in full sun by the lake for swimming and relaxing ulike other hotels where the pool is indoors. The rooms are lovely though some look straight into the windows of others so you need to have the curtains closed (even some lake view rooms).
I stayed on the club floor which is very nice. You also have fantastic cafes within easy walking distance by the lake.
The only down side was the phones in the room are a little difficult to work, and I changed currency with reception only to find out later the RMB I was given was fake. The reception staff were suspicious when the transaction took place. No follow up from hotel management but hey it's China.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times and it is really a good place to stay, the rooms are modern, fresh and comfortable. The staff are courteous and efficient, breakfast is a good spread and well managed.

Only thing I would change is the lack of bar area, in a business hotel there are always lots of single travellers who value somewhere nice to meet like minded people and pass the time. The lobby bar lacks atmosphere and is priced as if it was a 6 star hotel, most people go to the bar street behind the hotel(drinks around 40% of cost in hotel) and lots of interesting expats to chat to - recommend the london bar - from a hotel perspective this is a large loss of revenue.

Overall would definetly recomend this hotel.
