Third visit -- 1983, 2001, 2007. Comfortable rooms, redecorated, good beds. Staff pleasant and bent over backward to be helpful, though my Spanish is better than their English. We did not ever get the wine and fruit the other reviewer did; perhaps we should mention that next time. We were there in a heat wave (80F every day) and very comfortable, so I think they may have air conditioning.
Food is not outstanding, but good relative to other places we tried. The included breakfast is a high point, though they no longer included smoked salmon (seasonal? economy?).
The location is very convenient. We walked to the park at the Cerro Caracol and to the University on earlier trips. There are good craft stores in the mall around the hotel, and a nice coffee place in the mall, just outside the door of the hotel.
