The room itself was good and having wifi is always a bonus.
However the strange atmosphere left us a bit puzzled. When we arrived they seemed slightly unprepared and the man was less than friendly ( didn't even offer to help with our bags or attempt to
give us any useful info about
arica!). Not only did the unfriendliness continue but everytime you wanted to leave you had to be buzzed out the gate. Sometimes no-one was there to do this so we had to find someone. They gave sighs like it was a major effort. If it was then they should look into having keys madefor guests to come and go as they please! Location isn't the best either. Breakfast was miserable and we didn't even get offered eggs, just stale bread. Also noticed a colony of ants living in the dining room in the vorner of a wall. All in all what a miserable place! Could do with some hospitality training!

I stayed for 6 nights during my PhD field work in Arica. I chose this place because it was the first telephone number that worked after trying to call several hotels closer to the city centre/beach.
The price (CHP10,000 for a single room ) and the free Wifi connection in the room were the decisive points.

Positive side: cheap; located on a quiet residential street (though birds and dogs can be loud and rooms have very thin walls); free Wifi connection and cable TV with lots of channels; basic but good hot shower. Fairly clean.

Negative side: very basic and rather shubby (fine for budget travelers but not recommended for couples or famlies); breakfast is miserable, consisting of powder coffee, sugar-added fruit juice, stale bread, butter and 4 thin strips of cheese (I didn't bother having it after the first day); a bit far from the city centre/beach/port, though everything in the city of Arica is walking distance.
