“Charming, relaxing and fine service.”

I have stayed at Angkor Discover Inn several times and always chooses to go back there.
The location is not far from the Old Market where Pub Street and other known shops are, 5 min from the center in a tuk tuk.
Its very charming, built and kept in tradition of khmer/western architecture, every room has a cosy balcony to enjoy and alot of fine places nearby to eat.
Local places.

The staff is always service minded, even at 3am in the morning ;-). The property is always clean and the GM very polite and helpfull with his guest's.
Whatever question, they can help you!!

The family was running some of the first guest house in Siem Reap, way before big hotels came into the scene. They have kept their service and standard, high level.

The only downside to the guesthouse is the breakfast or food.
If you like to have breakfast it is ordered at the restaurant across the street.
Since the guest house is not in charge of the breakfast or menu it might be unfair to actually blame this on them.
The again Im not there for the breakfast. You can find alot of good places to eat nearby.

Bicycle renting is also available or even limousine if that caters to your taste.

Since Im in Siem Reap 6-7 times a year due to work I have stayed in most hotels and guest houses there.
This is definitely one I truely can recommend.

Try it, the experience speaks for itself.

Room Tip: Book the top Floor, more privacy at the balconies.

“Very nice, lovely and staff-friendly hotel !”

Stayed here for three days with my friends to discover Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.
The rooms are clean, nice and have a very beautiful balcony. What a pleasure to have a drink with his friend outside at night by more than 25°C! The rooms have fast Wi-Fi service.
The location of the hotel is good. You need to walk a little bit to get to the downtown but you can also have a ride on a tuk-tuk, which are very easy to find nearby the hotel!

So, the hotel has a great value for money, but the most important point is that the staff is very friendly and is doing REALLY its best to help you for whatever you need.

During our trip, everything has been made to make us enjoy our stay in the hotel and your discovering of the region.

“Very nice property and staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

When my friends and I arrived late after a broken down bus experience, we were exhausted. The staff at Angkor was very attentive, directed us to a late dinner, after getting us to our rooms. We stayed at Discover for four nights, and looked forward to breakfast every morning in the courtyard, and, on one day, I took breakfast on the fine balcony off of my room. The grounds around the building are beautifully landscaped and tended, and the building itself seems new, including the bathrooms. And, again, the staff was very professional and friendly. The location of the hotel is a short tuk tuk ride from the lively, fun downtown area. I would stay here, again.

“Great hotel, but noisy dogs.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2011

Stayed here for three nights. We arrived on the bus from Phnom Penh which was a 7 hour journey - we were tired and thirsty. I'd emailed the hotel that morning to ask for a pickup from the bus station - I'd not had the chance to check my email for a reply so didn't know whether they'd received my request. However, when we arrived at the bus station there was a smiling tuk tuk driver waiting for us. We've never been quite so happy to see a tuk tuk driver.

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the friendly manager who welcomed us in and offered us a glass of water and a face wipe - exactly what we needed. We were shown to our room, which was small but well decorated and with a lovely balcony.

Unfortunately, things went rapidly downhill when we actually tried to sleep. We were woken several times during the night by dogs making the most hideous howling and high pitched yapping sounds. This happened all three nights we stayed there, and although we ended up staying a further two nights in Siem Reap we were so tired that we had to move hotels (to Mom's Guesthouse which was a lot quieter).

Other than that the rooms could benefit from more electric sockets - we couldn't really sit outside with our laptops without running the battery down.

Breakfast was pretty mediocre - fruit, bread, egg, coffee, juice (not fresh) - all OK but not great. Normally we wouldn't be too fussed but after a rotten night's sleep it's good to have some nice food waiting for you.

I'm sure it's not the hotel's fault about the dogs, and it has to be said that the staff were all lovely here, and even gave us a small gift when we left. Unlike most places, the wifi password was printed clearly on notices in the hotel and we didn't have to run down to ask. The internet connection was pretty good by Cambodian standards. We rented bicycles to tour the temples one day ($2 each for the day), and they were decent bikes.

It's a bit outside the town centre, about a 20 minute walk from the old market, but it's a nice area. The restaurant over the road is a little expensive but serves the loveliest coconut shakes. Wander north and towards the river for a bit and you'll find some real local restaurants (look for plastic chairs and jugs of tea on the tables) where you can eat for $1, or delicious street barbeques. Also look out for the street dessert places, little huts serving various combinations of sticky rice, beans, coconut, pumpkin, tapioca etc out of metal bowls. You can feed two people for under $5 if you choose these places over the more touristy restaurants with translated menus.

“Great ambience, value, and room!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2008

The Angkor Discover Inn is a lovely, affordable hotel in Siem Reap. We stayed there for four days as our base for exploring Angkor Wat.

Location: It's not downtown, but that's just a good excuse for a nice long (20 min?) walk or fun tuk-tuk rides. There are restaurants in walking distance, but the street action is mostly regular local people
doing non-touristy things, which is nice.

The hotel is simple but with great ambience - wood decor, some simple Cambodian art. The room itself was very well-decorated, from the bed coverings to the lanterns. We had a small balcony, and it appears every room does.

My only dislike was that the shower is not a separate area in the bathroom - just a nozzle on the wall right next to the toilet, and the water drains into the corner. Flip flops would have made me happier (they do actually have some there, but I didn't want to use them), and this kind of shower seems to be par for the course even in mid-range hotels in Thailand and Cambodia. If you're prepared, it's actually kind of fun to have a whole room to shower in!

The staff was incredibly nice. They spoke enough English to be very helpful, and made calls for us to restaurants, etc. One night I got very sick, and my boyfriend went down to see if we could get tea - they prepared a pot for me right away. Another day we, amusingly, went out on our balcony and accidentally locked ourselves out. We yelled down and the staff must have leapt up the stairs, they came up so fast.

Breakfast was fruit, eggs, and great bread.

All in all, a great place to stay. My boyfriend liked it the most out
of the 7 places we stayed in Thailand and Cambodia!
